Thanks Fella's! I agree...it's the little things. We gonna see that Junkyard Dog with some paint soon Matt?

Great job as always Will. What are you going to do with all your spare time once this thing is done? I could set up a spare bedroom here if you would be interested in trying your hand on a Charger.

LOL...No doubt! Your Charger would be a blast to work on. I've honestly asked myself that same question elk. I'm gonna be like a lost kid in the airport or something. Guess maybe i'll go fishing :fishin: Seems to me you're going to be pretty much in the same boat once your Dodge hits the streets..lol

If a decent '70 GTX or Street Rod project pops up on the radar, it wouldn't take to much of a twist of my arm to possibly jump on something like that.

:happy1: I'm waitin' to see what you come up with next!

Time will tell my friend..... As far as news on the bird; those couple pages we filled on this thread on the 512 Emblems, i'm finally getting there. So, some of the hurdles. "We need the correct font to duplicate" (yeah, let me get 1969 on the phone). "We no longer do metal emblems, plastic is much better" (Hope you don't make knives). "Our minimum order is minimal...just 500. (oh that's it? well that's a lot of friggin fridge magnets). Or, "Would you like them in gold or sterling silver" (How about in Aluminum? My wife put you up to this?)

Anyways....Finally found a company and they're right here out of Wisconsin. www.customautoemblems.net Been dealing with a Dave Whitehouse. Emblems are CNC machined out of plate Aluminum. These guys have been crazy busy lately do to the car season coming up, but still made time. Expect a wait this time of year. Below is the paintshop "512" emblem I designed going off the '69 roadrunner air grabber call out emblem font style. Below that is the CAD drawing they sent me for my approval, which I just approved. Cost, $170.00 for the pair after everything. Nice chunk of change, but having a "512" hanging out on the side of the air grabber that looks like it came out of 1969 is worth it to me. Heck, HEMI emblems for the air grabber are over $200 bucks.

Thanks Budnicks...Not as exciting/fun as picking out paint or something, but it's always fun to create and add a little extra flare to your own ride.

yeah it's those little personal touches that make the build your own...

Thanks Wil. I'm really looking forward to seeing them ... A. just for general purposes, and B. seeing them bolted onto your bad *** 'whoa-oh black betty' bird! Also because I was vicariosly there with ya in spirit, ya know because I was reading the thread with us other miniouns those couple days when you were going back and forth with suggestions of a few others designing them LOL.

You've come a long ways on your car Will. You've gotten the bigger stuff out of the way, so now you have the time to think of all the little things you can do to it. Makes your car that much more awesome when it is finished.

those will look great!
sorta along the same lines...I got a '69 1/2 type hood for mine. like to get some decals made, like the 440 6BBl, but 383 4BBl. Does anyone know who might do these?
Totally Auto totally gave me the run around for 6 months.
thanks

I appreciated all the input on them from you and others..Cool thing about these emblems is that they are a direct result of the combined comments/ideas from you guys! (as well as other things on this car) Don't ever think I will forget then when i'm staring down the side of that air grabber, looking at that 512 glaring in the sun.

Good way to sum it up Roger! It's all the little details that make or break you. Can't say fiddling with all the trinkets are earth shattering exciting, but fun to install never the less.

Thanks Basketcase....There's a custom sticker joint not too far from here that was willing to make custom decals with the 512 design. If you wanted I could get you their contact info.

Honestly Prop? I don't know if they've been working on the "DOG" or not. I have had all of my focus on my business for the entire winter. The only car stuff I've been doing is trying to shake a couple of project cars that I've gathered so I can have more room in my shop to work. It hasn't been easy to set some of that aside but making the move into a real commercial space is a big commitment and I'm trying to see that through without any distractions. This car stuff is just a hobby.
Love the emblems!

Hey Matt, have you ever wanted to clone yourself to get more of your stuff done, and done exactly the way you want it done? I have! Ever thought about parlaying that hobby into a money-making venture? I suppose it's just which hobby/job you enjoy the most? I'm sure the woodworking you do is as much (if not more) of a passionate love as the car end of things, right?

thanks! that would be great!

Sounds like you got your priorities straight brother....Gotta make money to spend it. A business venture is tough enough, let alone trying to put a car back together on top of it. Hope your work is going well and continues to flourish. I'm sure the "Dog" will get its attention when the time is right.

thanks! that would be great!

Will do man...I should be running over to that side of town here in the next couple days. I'll grab a business card.

Kind of pricey Will, But will be a great look on the car that demands the best at this point, The way you designed it, it almost looks like something on the market ready to buy with same design in-between the numbers as the 383! pretty cool! That would really be cool if you could have the 512 on the middle of each valve cover built in like it was bought looking the same as the ones going on the hood inserts!
