Hello folks

My 69 Charger (383 with AC) has installed an electric fans and I want to back to mechanical fans, comes with aluminium radiator too

WHich do you recommend me?

Thanks

If possible I would get an original rad recored, we have successfully had 2 22” rads and a 26” made into 3 cores. One was i a 383 car that sat in 100 degree heat at Kansas City, did not overheat while waiting to cross the river because of the bridge problem.
The 440 26’ was recored, has a clutch fan and shroud. Again no overheating problems.
The 383 has been that way since about 1993 and the 440 since about about 1985 I believe.

Thank you, yes I prefer the original one

Use original style thermal drive clutch or torque drive clutch as available thru Tony's Parts, noted above, don't use the cheese ball Hayden clutches.....the only reason evey body likes them...they're cheap and look it.......

Who made the Mopar clutches ? Funny, I've used haydens for years, even have one on one of my cars that's been in use almost 20 years. What's wrong with them ?

The origional units were made by Eaton Corp. I personally don't like the Hayden units because they look cheap especially with the slotted mounting holts.....they do not resemble the origional units...maybe they do in function but not in form or appearance.........

Like Sgtsuperbird says link to 26 inch radiator i believe he is talking about the one i have for sale there is no part numbers on it because it is an aftermarket brass radiator that i removed from a 1969 GTX 440 AC automatic car and replaced it with a Glen Ray only because my car is 98% numbers matching and i am trying to take it to the next level. When i removed it the unit was working fine. I agree with everybody only because i been down this road do your self a favor and put everything original back on as far as clutch water pump fan blade shroud and 26 inch radiator. Make sure you have the right water pump and pulleys for if it is an AC car or non AC car the pumps and pulley combo are not the same and they don't play well with each other as far as cooling correctly i know from experience i put on exactly as the original assembly and it works great now.

Well, blow me down, says Popeye. Here I thought Hayden made the clutches for Tony's parts.
