There is a version of Silent Night that Bing Crosby sang on Christmas 1945 that, to me, is Christmas. He addressed the nation on the first Christmas after the War was won and it resonates with me every year. Looks like Youtube doesnt have it, so i guess i have to figure out how to put it there.

I'm finding an interesting theme here. What peoples favourite Christmas songs are is very personal. Even though some of us may like the same song, we are quite passionate as to the artist or the arrangement. Thank you everyone for sharing.

Great point, satman. Christmas is all about family, memories and tradition. And so, it seems, is the music.

HEY PROP, THAT'S THE RECORDING I HAVE!!. Haha awesome, brother. I had this old CD with cuts of that radio show but now I have the WHOLE SHOW thanks to you. Since my oldest was born, I always made sure that that CD was playing when my boys open their presents and we share the cookies that Santa didn't get to finish.

I always take time to acknowledge the significance of that recording so they have a sense of history and their place in the world so they appreciate their presents and the good blessings we've received. Heck, who knows what other gems I might find in that old recording.

Thanks a lot, brother, means an awful lot.
