Hello

I just traded my '85 Dodge 3/4 ton truck for this '74 Charger.
I now need to learn B bodies....

Car is solid and originally for Topeka Kansas. I need to fix the things that are not normal. Then it is minor body, paint and interior work.

Welcome, nice project. Whats under the hood?

Welcome to the site fellow Michigander! What part of the state is home? Great car, what are your plans for it?

Thanks for the welcome!

Plans for the car are the basics -to strip the shell down and repaint to original color, or black. Then take care of interior and go through the motor. The car is light blue. B1 The car has been raced and is not original and I may do a custom interior if I am unable to find the parts I need for it.
I still need to go through everything and find out what is original to the car.

I am located North East of Grand Rapids.

A couple of quick questions. Does the 400 and 440 look alike? & Were these rubber hood bulge's, scoops, options for B bodies? I have not seen anything like them and they kinda look like the fit the hood.

Thanks

It supposedly has a 440 now, but I am thinking it may be a 400, I need to check the numbers. I will keep it as it is now.

I ran the fender tag and it was originally a 318 car. I am going to go through a learning phase with the B body ...all my Mopars, other than trucks, over the last 25 years have been A bodies; except for a 1922 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe, that I sold.

Welcome and congrats on the Charger purchase. Easiest way to tell, a 440 has flat surface( a tad smaller than a cigarette pack) that is located on the drivers front of block at head. Those scoops were aftermarket add ons.

Is that factory?

You gotta keep the air cleaner through the hood configuration!!!!!
It rocks!!!!

Thanks...I just took a break and checked....and after running the numbers it appears to be a.....drum roll please......1971 400....

Bummer! :(

Thanks for the pics it made it much easier to locate.
