Finally...........

Are you planning to keep the black fade-out paint on the radiator support? Superstock cars wheren't "equiped" with that.

Clearly not only my English writing is bad...my reading is too...this remark doesn't make any sence at all...hahahaha.

There's a black 64 2dr sedan in Germany with red...I recolored it:

Well Baseline thanks for the picture. I'm not convinced that I should be going that route. Just doesn't look to good in my opinion.

Maybe I should just paint the whole car Black and let the trim speak for itself.

I'd appreciate any feedback from all you guys.
Thanks,
Joe

Here is a quick stab at it, might help you visualize it. The black one I tried to simulate the trim on the side because that will make a big difference by breaking up the all back.

Check this one out of your very own car.

The 440 has a lot of trim and like you said it could speak for itself. Hard to say.
Maybe a bit of gold mixed in with the black would look good in the stripe area. Not as noticeable but also more of a custom touch.

It really depends on what direction you are going in. You mentioned tinting your windows before. If you do stuff like that might tie in better to a custom stripe and look more complete?

Well here's a few new pics. of car at the body shop. They wanted to make sure the rear window fit into place as it should before continuing with the body work. Looks like it fits very well. Now get on with the job at hand.

Another question.

Does anyone know the color combinations available from the factory as far as the section in between the side molding? What I mean is this car came as beige with the tan/gold in between the molding. What I'm looking for is what were the available combo's for other colors.
Thanks, Joe

That's some great progress. Good to see. Keep posting more pics whenever you can.

Hey Joe, that's looking real good. But, as for the color combo's...these combo's are what i've seen:

black with red inbetween the moulding
beige with black inbetween the moulding

Ofcourse there's always the possibility of just using the base color...

You can anodize the trim to get a gold tint to it. Or, eastwood has translucent powder coating that might work also in different colors. My 330 has standard trim I attached so you can see what black paint and std trim will look like on yours.

Man I love those 64 sedans!!!!!! Joe, your car looked great in its original color also. I had a 4dr 440 with your same original colors with a gold interior and the accent stripe was a shade of gold...was a great color combo.

Rolling I agree with you on the original color combo. Had the previous owner not have painted the engine compartment black I might have gone with it. (original color that is)

A few more pics of car at the body shop. Should be ready for primer in a couple of days.

Well stopped by the body shop today and they have a coat of primer on the car, about 80% that is. Then they lightly sprayed a mist of lighter color primer on so as they sand again they can check for imperfections. It's getting there ! :sleepy2:

Wow it sure is getting close and looking great already. Did you decide on the gold stripe?

Looks Great, Looking forward to seeing it progress!

Where did you buy that car at? Just curious

Looks like the shop is spending alot of time on prep work, which is always good to see.

I purchased the car from someone in Long Island. Yes they do seem like they are doing a lot of prep work, which is good! The car is to be painted Black, so they say it needs to be perfect before paint.
