Is there any modifications I would need to make to fit a big block in a small block car? I know the K-members and transmissions were different but is there anything else or is it as simple as bolting in a big block K-frame?

All V8 K frames were the same. You'll need the correct motor mounts and then a small block trans but the trans cross member support is also the same
