Visiting form FCBO. I posted this on that site but didn't get much feedback so I thought I would check here.

So I’m getting around to ordering some torsion bars for the Fury. For me cost is always a concern and FF bars list at $600 and PST are offered thru Kanter for $419. The FF bars go up to 1.18 and the PST are 1.12

I would like to hear first hand experiences, positive and negative, on both companies.

Thanks

I have the 1.03" bars in my Charger and they are very nice.

FF units are made in the U.S. No clue about PST. Another one to source bars from is BAC. Peter sources U.S. made units. The price difference you are wondering about could very well be the source of manufacture. Others will chime in with hands on experiences. I have FF stuff for my 65 but have not used any of it yet. Car is still in build mode.

I also put the PST 1.03 bars in my 67 Satellite to replace the originals and am very happy with them. Price was good and delivery was quick.

I recently ordered last month (but have not installed) FF 1.06 bars for my B-body. They had them in stock and delivery was 2 days.
Be aware when comparing bar diameters, also pay attention to the listed spring rate (which is affected by the heat treating). For example, Hotchkis offers 1.10" bars and they have the same listed spring rate as the FF 1.06" bars I just ordered.

And Heat treat is indirectly related to the material/alloy chosen for the bar, spring rate or wheel rate is only real way to compare performance.

PST size and rate for 1.12. They are the same rate as the 1.12 FF

Both FF and PST say they are forged in USA.

I went with PST 1.03s.. very very happy with the ride.. not too stiff. Just curious, why 112--118? honestly curious

Been part of this discussion for over 20+ years. It started for me back when many in mopar world were discussing if they should upgrade from .86" bars to .93". Their stated fear was they didn't want their car to ride like a dump truck but would appreciate better handling. I typed till my fingers bleed, that anyone wanting better handling with ANY modern tire setup was wasting their time and money getting anything under 1". It normally fell on deaf ears, that was 20 years ago. In past 10 years 1" + bars have become more common. I also used to share no matter what bar 1"+ you buy, in the back of your mind, the question will always be, did I go big enough? I can count on one hand with fingers left over the reports of anyone that felt they went too big.
Does that address your question?

PS, I have a custom set of C body hex 41" hollow 1.375" bars waiting for heat treat. being hallow they are in the 1.24" spring rate range and weigh 8 lbs less each
Don't ask the cost.

When i got my 1.03's (i could swear they were 1.04...but.. my brain is mush) I was afraid they would ride hard but it's perfect.. the car rides soo much better than my grand cherokee which is like a brick :)

I have used PST 1.03 bars in several B-body cars, and one A body. I really like them and have no complaints. FF sells good stuff as well, but like you noticed, are more $.
