First day of 69 Bee production?

What I saw read, Jan. 2 1968 Dodge announce they would build
(actual production date ?, not sure)
the 1968 Super Bee Post Coupe version,
with a b-pillar, with pop out rear windows
of a Dodge 1968 Super Bee/117 inch wheelbase
off the base Coronet B-body platform,
they released a few months later, released a Hard Top version
(69 with no b-pillar & had roll up rear windows)
of the Super Bee/117 inch wheelbase base Coronet b-body platform too
to help them cartoonish Super Bee capture the youth market hit for Dodge
like they did for Plymouth's Road Runner 'Beep Beep'

after the extremely successful release for Plymouth & build of the
Road Runners RM21 Post Coupe, on the Belvedere Platform B-body
116 inch wheelbase version, earlier the previous Fall of 1967
(Sept. IIRC ?) it was a hit
they thought they'd sale maybe (?) 5,000 units, & they sold like 44,000+
the later mid year offering was a Hard Top version RM23 & Decore package

It's supposed to start new production on August 1 (68) but who is to say for sure. Because the 68 and 9 models were very similar there shouldn't have been many issues or delays at the plant or on the line.

All 1968 SuperBees were pillared coupes. No hardtop until 1969 production.

Why are you asking, do you have an "early " car?

What was the first day of production for the 1969 Super Bee?

They were built three different plants.
You may find some with an 801 SCHEDULED date or some cars with 7XX preproduction date, but unless and until detailed factory records appear, there is no way to know what day or date a specific car was built.

Mine is a 9/09 car so I guess an early car. If I remember right a St Louis built car

Head rests were optional on early 1969 builds. They became standard equipment as of January 1, 1969, due to changes in Govt. safety standards.
