I did a hood swap from a bulge hood to one with a ramcharger air box. This required a lower intake manifold. I swapped my Edelbrock Performer RPM for a Weiand 8009 intake, which has about the same deck height as a stock 4-barrel intake. The carburetor is a Holley Ultra Street Avenger 770 and was not changed. The engine seems to run a bit richer than before. When we get some fair weather and I feel up to it I'll tweak the idle screws, which should help.

This got me thinking about what first steps are necessary after an intake swap. Please feel free to chime in with tips for swapping intakes from higher to lower and vice versa.

Thanks in advance for your input. This should be interesting.

First thing to mind is readjust throttle& kickdown linkage. Carb stud height also!!

I think your idea about re-tuning the carburetor is the only thing I can think of.
