Always use the right tool for the job.....they keep making these things idiot proof, but the idiots are getting smarter........

Lots of soap and a couple of whale bones. Ready makes it easy. But I have been there broken a couple also.
 
That's a bummer. I trick I learned long ago was to take a heat gun and go around the gasket, softens it up and makes it easier to work with. Soap is your friend like bearman suggests. I'm sure you'll find another windshield to replace the fubar...
 
I m assuming a new one is available. The heat gun to presoften the rubber sounds like a good trick that could help, never thought of that. Yep, one thing leads to another, with a new windshield , now I will have to get a new dash to match....
Last one I cut out was from a 65 Buick Riviera, good cut, no damage to the glass, holding it up high turned the corner to place it in my shop and a small bit on the corner touched the chain holding up my porch swing, and the durn thing exploded into a million 1/4 inch cubes in mid air. It would have made a sensational u tube post.....
