One of the more unusual rail cars that was seldom part of a consist. These are scale test cars, with an exact measured weight to test weight scales that measure such things as how much a grain car weighs before and after unloading. These test cars usually didn't have air brakes, they had to be coupled to another car with working brakes so that something as slight as brake shoe wear wouldn't change the total car weight.
