The Amazing Looping Railroad

Situated along the Hiwassee River near the North Carolina boarder in Polk Co. Tennessee.

Copper Hill Tenn is where my great grandparents lived and my mother went to school. My one uncle worked at the copper mine in this area. The empty cars are being moved from the copper mine storage area.
The Tennessee Railroad Museum is giving excursion rides on the old line. Watch as the train passes over itself about the 5:00 mark.

4-8-4 Reading & Northern #2102 is so loud it even drowns out its whistle coming through the first crossing. Count the loaded passenger cars near the end to get a grasp of how much power is being made. Great shots and sound on this video taken in September.
