THANK YOU! I know this took some serious effort, it is much appreciated.

Wow very miticulous, a really great job! I love it... it is also good therphy dont you think? I get lost for hours working on my Charger...

My 73 Charger was undercoated from the factory, very very thick, I have the original still on it for about 80 % of the car thick over spary on the gas tank, I did not respray my tank when it was replaced, no judging here just me. your car is looking great!

@CompSyn

So whats the story behind all of this? Im sure it was very time consuming and i really like how it was done. Can anyone do this to their thread? Was this just an experiment? Inquiring minds want to know.

WOW WHAT AN AWESOME CAR!!!! and thread detailing it for all to enjoy.
And I love how compsyn put it all together like the factory manual!

Sure! I came upon Justin's thread last December -> HERE

I'm in the middle of restoring my 69 Roadrunner and was really searching for any information I could find on how to do an original restoration. Things like techniques, what restorations parts to use or not use, what restoration shops to use, what vendors to use, etc. I also really appreciate that from all appearances not having met him, Justin is just a regular down to earth guy who restored his Mopar in his garage. He's not a high profile TV personality. He doesn't manage a team of restoration artisans in a state of the art shop, he is not beholden to sponsorships. Nope, just a regular guy in his garage. That was encouraging to me as I am in much the same boat. I know this information will save me and others here a lot of time and money and I am grateful for Justin taking the time to share his experience and knowledge with the forum.

So for me personally, that sparked off the daunting task of sifting through 100 plus pages of a thread looking for the topic at hand. I thought to myself, I need to catalog this thread so I can find things easier for the future. So I don't have to spend 45 minutes searching every time I want to find information for the current project I'm working on. As I worked on it, it morphed into something bigger and more intricate. At that point, I fingered the forum members here might find such an index helpful as well. So I contacted Justin, told him what I was working on and asked his permission to post the index to his thread when I finished it. He thought it was a great idea and said go for it.

And that's the story behind the index.

Well it's a really nice job and sure does simplify looking for a particular section of the build. I know there was talk about doing a "Blog" at one time and that would simplify looking through a build thread also. I do like your system and wish there was some kind of a format to duplicate what you have done.

Nice work

I would like to see what you have done posted separately so it doesn't get lost in the thread. Maybe moved to the beginning of the thread somehow?

Thanks! Justin and I have talked about editing in a link to his original post for newcomers to find the index more easily. I agree that a blog or website, some have said book, would be great.

Thanks for taking the time to view my thread..I really appreciate the compliments....

This car was not a complete undercoat car.....those cars always got a crazy amount of undercoating.....plus, no two cars are the same.....when I coated the wheel wells. I mimicked what was done originally.....that's why I took detailed pics and saved samples.....it is not exact as original but I did my best....

Btw the gas tank, frame rails, shocks, leaf springs and shackles, rear end and part of the underside got splattered with undercoat on the X......

Don

Thank you for the compliments! There is more to come to this thread......

Anthony did an awesome job compiling the links.....

A very special thanks to Anthony for setting these links up.....the amount of time he spent doing that is crazy and most don't have a clue how long that took......

I am.going to add a link to my first post at the top to make the connection easier to the pages.....

I will do that sometime tonight!

Again I cannot thank Anthony enough for having the drive and ability to do this

Great job:thumbsup:

It's amazing where this thread has gone from post #1. I've followed this since day 1 & it's amazing where this is has gone + being a living memorial to Justin's Dad!

Compsyn, thanks! My friend has a '69 so this will help him. My car is sitting next to his. He refers to them as "sisters"..lol

Anthony did a Great job, better than any Ferd-Chebby stuff. Thanks again!

Sir Roger aka Kiwi.....Added the link and info to the top of post #1 on page 1....

Still more to come......this has just been a rest period for me from the beatdown of the restoration, lol....
