Four post lift installed today

One note: I have the same type of lift but bolted mine down to the floor. I know that you don't have to do this but I was worried that if for some reason the bottom car bumped into a post the whole thing could topple. I might just be paranoid though.

I wanted it bolted down but the salesman at Greg Smith talked me out of it and the installer did likewise.I'll just have to be careful when pulling in.

I have two of them and they also claim they don't need to be bolted to the floor. For me, they are currently in a temporary position, and with radiant heat, I didn't want to drill into my new floor. I chose them because they were sold as not needing to be bolted down. Unloaded, I didn't like how they wiggled. What I did was secure the top to the walls with 1 5/8" strut. Personally I'm not sure I'd really wrench on the car for fear of the lift falling over. Most likely you'll be fine, I tend to be a little paranoid.

They did warn me that the lift would creep a little every time you ran a car up the ramps. Keep that in mind, if it bothers you, maybe mark the floor to keep track.

Big Deal, I not jealous ........:eusa_liar:.............

WANT

One of these days I'll have a workshop with enough "spare" room for a lift...for now my buddy the shop teacher is my solution -- borrowed time on weekends!

I like that setup. I have to admit though, that even if I did have 4 or 5 bays it'd probably never be as clean as yours! Between reloading/casting gear, a small woodshop, welders & torches and other assorted stuff I tell the wife I know how to use, a couple of old cars to work on (not to mention the daily drivers) I could fill a 40x80 barn inside of six months and STILL not have a place to work!!!!

Good job on the setup, and nice wall art!

The bolt-down issue was a little unnerving at first, but now it doesn't bother me at all. Just like you guys, Greg Smith said it would be fine....so far they are right. Going on 5 years.

I've been on and off a dozen times now and it hasn't moved at all, I traced the outline of the post on the garage floor.

Congrats !!!!! After owning lifts, would'nt want to be without them now !!!!!! A little tidbit, after you've run that up and down with a car on it a dozen times or so,recheck the cables as the longer ones will stretch,I mean, when you start to lift the car up,make sure it picks up dead evenly at one time.Mine started picking up on the shorter ones first, then the longer two were kicking in.Thats to much strain on just to cables to start.Once I adjusted them, never had to do it again ,yet !!

Stopped in the Delaware store. but they only had the displays in the shop. I have the 3495 combo on order. It looks like
the same one you just did. I am glad to see others using that one also.

Good luck with yours. I was told to go to Tractor Supply for the oil. Where did you get yours from? At the smith place they wanted 69 for a 5 gallon bucket. At tractor supply I was told it sold there for $49

Been waiting for this day for a long time, finally had my four post lift installed today. Two guys delivered and installed it in under four hours.

Nice lift, wish my celling was high enough to install one.

Got mine today IMG_0410.jpg

how tall is your garage red 69?

10'6".I got 4 1/2" to the ceiling and thats enough to release the locks to lower it and I got 62" to the bottom of the runways so another B Body will fit underneath,Just have to find a good deal.

I figured that 10'3" was about the minimum to get two stock B-bodies to fit.
