NYC 57 street... Damaged, dangling crane atop 90 story building...In my area we have road closures,trees down & intermit loss of power.....Dropped off my daughter who's a LPN at work....Its going to be a long nite.......

The storm is set to make land fall in the Southern Jersey area right around now. About thirty miles or so from Ocean City Maryland. This is what OC looks like on a good day. Imagine what this flat sliver of sand looks like right now. Im in Baltimore,and things are gettin real nasty. We are supposed to get the worst of it overnight which really sucks. If anything bad happens it willbe dark,and I will be asleep. Gonna be a worried tense night for sure. Winds are howling and the rain is pouring but at least we still have power.

Ive been thinking about all in this storm all night Mar, I was hoping things would be good enough for a few to check in.. As bad as the wind and rain is hear tonight, i cant imagine whats going on there!

Ya i hear ya Ron, we've been getting gusts up to 50mph around the Chicagoland area tonight...we may or may not get snow in the next couple of days....but that's nothing new in October!! lol

Well it looks like we came out of it relitively easy down here. Had high winds and rain, not sure of the numbers yet. Tidal surge was not much. Lost power at 10PM and I fired up the generator around 3AM. Was greeted to street lights at around 6AM. Power is back, for now, and hopefully the worst is past us. Hoping everyone is safe and loss of property is minimal.

Hope everyone made it through the mess ok. I generally stay put for storms down here but Ike may have changed my mind. It came in as a strong cat 2 and it wasn't any fun for sure...

I'm with the old Pabster, I hope everyone, including the people on this Forum are all good & safe, with minimal damages.... the news shows it to be really bad around New Jersey, being hit the worse as far as flooding & tidal surge, I guess the snow is going to be pretty bad in the eastern areas, effected buy the Super Storm/Sandy... my best wishes to all concerned/effected... stay warm, stay dry & by all meens stay safe...
