FRONT ROTOR QUESTION

Try these part numbers Pads Raybestos PGD39M Rotors Raybestos 7032R Bearings Timken set 2 and set 17 National seal 5121 I also got hold of a 65 Dodge that had the brakes upgraded and need to find parts to repair. From what I listed they are for a 1975 coronet. Like suggested take your old parts with you and try these numbers and see if they work for you

Post #15, that Fran made, also has all the part numbers.
Same article I used to upgrade the brakes on my 64.

Its about time someone said that. 99.9% sure that's what they'll be.
If you're 99.9% sure, why didn't you speak up instead of making a negative, snide comment about everyone here?

Someone changed my dads 62 polara front brakes to disk. I want to put on new rotors, bearings. I have no idea what they are from. They measure 11 3/4 Anyone have any ideas ?

11.75 rotors only came on the late model B and R body cars so pretty easy to figure out what to ask for at a parts store. The bearings and seals are all the same for ABEFMJ cars after 1973. They all used the same part numbers so you can close your eyes and point to a line in the parts book and the numbers will be the same.

The one issue you might have with that swap is if they used the original B body or R body calipers. If they did then the brake hoses are probably all jacked up. If it was me I'd spend some time looking at how the hoses are routed to see if they are okay or not. Odds are that you'll need to fix that since a lot of guys who do these swaps are hack artists. The bleeders should be at the highest point on the caliper and the hose routing should be nice and smooth without any sharp bends or kinks.

The 'swap' has already been done on xman's 62, at least on the front discs. All he's looking for is rotors, bearings, seals, and such.
Guessing the swap was done old school, maybe even using that same article. As I mentioned, same deal on my 64 was done. Can't remember every gory detail, but do remember most of it was in line with 'police type' brakes. Since they always got the best!
Mine is set up manual brakes, so, since disc/drum brakes use a different master cylinder, I had to hunt for the right one. Parts house search...asked for the earliest disc/drum manual master...67 Dodge Coronet was it. Bought it new. Then to the rotors/calipers.
If 67 Coronets had disc/drum (police), also had rotors, and calipers. Exactly what I got, listed as unicast rotors, 11.75", also new.
Only point I'm trying to make, takes a little checking, and get what's needed. Don't know on the 62, xman, if the rear was updated, since it takes a later rear axle for starters.

Here is what I found out & did. Went to my local napa & ordered rotors, bearings & seals for a 75 cordoba. The rotor size is right 11.75 The bearing size is wrong for my spindle. So I took them back. I ordered ones for a 77 cordoba. With them the rotor is the wrong size 11 inch but the bearing size is right for my spindle. So I just took my old bearings in & got new ones & new seals. I just cleaned up my old rotors. The old ones were not shot just rusty & the pads look new. For the miles that I will be putting on the car they should last me for awhile

Yeah, a little mix and match.
One little note, for those years Cordobas, on the calipers (if you try them) is the caliper piston. At least some are a type of plastic, and can break easily.

'75 and '77 Cordoba are both B body cars so the bearings will be the same. Any wheel bearings for any ABEFMJ car after 1973 will be the correct size. Your parts guy just gave you the wrong stuff. The 11.75 rotor was optional on some cars so you might have to ask specifically for the larger rotor.

The 11.75 rotors had the wrong bearing sizes. Inner & outter. Didn't matter if it was years 75 or 77. Now the 11.00 inch rotor had the right size bearings but was to small dia.

The inner bearing on the list I posted was a Bower/BCA A-17. Have your parts guy cross reference it.

11.75 and 11 inch uni-cast rotors use the same bearings. You are either getting confused by someone giving you the wrong parts or you are asking for the wrong thing.

I had received Imperial rotors and they didn't work for me. I don't remember the problem but I couldn't use them. I'll look to see if I still have them and let you know the problem I had. May have just thrown them away because I couldn't use them.
