I give up, Benno. Sorry, Man. Too much drama. Good luck with your project. Hope it gets out of the garage some day.

running presure to the feed side of a pump that is not designed for that normally results in the diaphram splitting inside.you mechanical pump is prob bad and my be dumping fuel into the eng oil.make sure your oil doesnt smell like fuel.I have the same problem with my 440. It used to vapor lock in traffic, which is common with headers so close to the pump. It also has to crank forever to start after sitting. I had the stock HP pump and a Hemi pump on it. Same result. You could watch the pressure drop as it sat and idled. (I run a regulator with a gauge)
I installed a Mr Gasket 2-4 psi electric pump back by the tank. The problems went away 100%.... BUT, it seems now that the pressure has dwindled down to only what the electric pump puts out. If I unplug it, the pressure drops to zero and she dies. The mechanical pump seems to have quit working altogether. I have not checked stroke yet. The engine has 2500 miles.
Sounds similar huh?
