gas tank seal

The rubber seal that goes into the end of the tank and the area around the filler neck...
Does this get any type of RTV sealer? Its for a 69 Bee.

Nope, maybe a thin smear of Vaseline to help it go together...

No sealer. Also I always put a little gas in the tank and flip it upside down and let it sit for a little while to make sure that the seal won't leak before I put the tank back in the car. A lot better than getting the tank back in the car and full of gas then finding out it leaks. It's probably not foolproof but it works for me. Figured it out the hard way.
