Dont get me wrong I like some of the stuff they do on Fast n Loud. However, last night was part 1 of a 64 dodge p/u build. It was in a bad way but, while keeping the frame and body they put Ford front suspension in and then tried to put a Chevy motor in it. I can happily report that the dodge is fighting them all the way :headbang: It had a Dodge motor (V8) in it and why they did not rebuild it I have no clue. The front suspension I can understand that upgrade, but why do people have to put chevy engines in everything that they don't belong in? I can understand that if the car is so rare that no engine can be found then ok. But to pull a dodge egine and replace it with a chevy damn that drives me crazy.

Because you can buy a chevy crate motor for pennies on the dollar compared to a mopar engine.

Why would money matter to the *** Monkeys? Judging by what they do at auction proves to me they are nothing more than a bunch of asses....

Yea but it was not even a crate motor. It was out of a 2002 yukon (not even a new engine). Boggles the mind

I see complete 5.3's out of chevy trucks on craigslist for $400. As the old saying goes monkey see monkey do.

Sucks for purists, yes. But they're in the fix 'n flip business, any brand, any condition. Even if they can only make $500 or thousands. I like the show, but obviously take it with a grain of salt. Don't consider them "expert restorers" or real collectors by any means.

The SBC in the Dodge PU is definitely a cost decision vs. how much they can unload it for.

I agree... I like watching too, IMHFO the Ford Crown Vic suspension is more or less acceptable, but the Chevy engine/trans in a Dodge is sacrilegious...LOL... I know it's all about the money, but some things you just don't do, maybe could have gotten a wrecking yard 5.7ltr Hemi/trans for double what they spent on the LS Chevy combo, the truck would appeal to allot more Dodge people anyway, maybe bring more money that way too... that's my $0.02 cents... I'm no purist, I'm a day 2 guy all the way... BUT I've never been a big fan of GM in a Dodge or GM in a Ford or a Chevy in a Pontiac/Buick/Cadillac etc., Hemi in anything is cool, but on a cool concept, a Rod or a really clean build, I can overlook allot, it's just entertainment after-all, they are trying to make a profit, not very well either sometimes it seems....

I only saw the end of the show, figured they were putting in a 3G hemi...wrong. That crap pisses me off to no end. Its not that they are putting a GM in a Dodge, its the street rod guys too, GM in a '32 Ford. It shouldn't be done at all!
Thought they should have went gasser with it.

I agree Budnicks, wish they would've put more effort into finding a wrecked Mopar of some sort, and get the motor out of that. Even a newer gen. one would be less sacreligous (sp?) than a Chevy motor. Never understood the Rod guys doing that too, Chevy into an old Ford, wtf? Can't be that much cheaper to do it cross-platform.

If you're putting a BBC into a little import body so you can go fast as hell, that's a different story. That I understand.

At $750 to buy the truck they should have scrapped the build when they discovered that the frame was racked. I don't see who would pay the 20K+ they'll need to make this build a profitable.

I'll tell you why... the chevy engine is one of the best running motors on the planet and they wanted a good running truck. :)

I watched it as well. Those engines make good power stock and are about a dime a dozen these days for the whole setup from a salvage yard. Budget and performance is what that truck is all about. I knew the oil pan would be an issue... lets see if they are smart enough to figure it out... Its not just about getting a pan to fit... its getting the oil pick up .335 from the bottom of the pan too.... or it could suck air on corners or hard braking on corners

That LSx platform LS1,2,3,6,7,9 is one of the best and least expensive to build and make very strong power.. Thats why it so popular... people who want to win and are on a budget choose it all the time

I don't think they'll make anything on that build!First of all a true mopar person won't buy it because of the engine!!! Secondly no street rodder will want it because it's a Dodge!

LOL... if you saw the previews for the next show it looks like he loses it in a coin toss as a trade for another vehicle.... its a rat rod really... taking parts on the cheap and building a runner... there are rat rod fans who would love it is my guess

Honestly fast n loud guys need to stop dinkin around with chvies and mustangs. I've really never seen a REAL Muscle car on that show.

That silver '67 Stingray 427 was sweet. Owner Richard's "Thomas Crowne Affair" Shelby clone vert. was also kinda cool.

Yeah, forgot about the "Stinger". Richard bought a challenger and I was hoping it was for a big build. But he ends up selling it for only 1k profit. Was kind of bummed but they do a good job.

Other than doing the same thing every time on every car. (air ride, low rider)

I don't think anyone is disputing the LS is a great "Cheap" platform, that is very capable of making good power levels... But that isn't what they are after, they really aren't modifying the engine, it's just a "cheap ***" alternative, to what should be used... IMHFO the LS platform, it doesn't belong in a Dodge & I like Chevy's, I'm not a hatter like some guys are.... GM stuff is the absolute cheapest way to build, let alone go fast... It's all about the $$$, being cheap, instead of doing the right thing... It's like putting a Chrysler LA 360 in a 99ss Camaro, it really shouldn't be done.... my $0.02 cents

These guys are a bunch of idiots. They bought a 59 nash ( they said hudson but it was a nash ) and told the people that anything over $1200 they would give back to them, well they sold it on line for $2950, just goes to show how stupid they are. If you want to watch a neat show watch car warriers alot better. I watch this show for laughs

Car Warriors is fun, just to see what crazy **** they come up with in the end. What's up with the owner on that "Graveyard Carz" show? Nice Mopars. Seems like he's a total douchebag to his employees but I've only seen a couple episodes.

Edit: Nm, found there are two threads on that Graveyard show already. I'll have to read through them...
