Geez, oil changes are getting expensive

$99.00 for a tire rotation, balance, and an oil change???? Pretty good price me thinks.
When I buy my tires at Discount tire they do the rotation and balance free. I do my
own oil change. I just paid $49.99 for a balance and rotation for a car that I bought in
February because I didn't purchase the tires.

The only annoyance is the undershield removal on my modern hemi's. The filter is easy.
Not necessarily on a Gen 5 RAM. The filter is worse to change than on the old B and RB engines and K-members. The suspension is tight under the RAM filter and it’s pretty much assured oil will go everywhere. I tried covering the steering with newspapers to deflect it off but still got some pieces coated. I’ve read of some owners who use fast-lube services and apparently they just let it go and coat everything and it drips in their garage/driveway for weeks.

Doin' tires on mom's Dakota.

Those machines are coming up on paying for themselves a second time.

I keep considering a tire machine, but seeing I can still go a mile down the road and get 4 tires mounted, new stems and balanced for 50 bucks cdn cash... not gonna happen.

Took our newer car in for an oil change and tire rotation. 45 minutes and $98.84 later. $71 went to labor. The car- 2023 Kia Sportage with 11k miles on it. I miss having my neighbors lift.
My Kia dealer was the cheapest for oil changes. If you dont get an Kia oil filter it will void the warranty.

Wow.

10 years ago it was $48 each, here.

Egad ! Yuck. I was referring to my 2 modern hemis, unaware of the G5 Ram issue.

Lol, memory is going but I think you’re talking over 10gal. of oil +++ 2-3 oil filters each time.
Plus 1/2hr just to hit all the grease fittings!
My Mack Superliner with 998cu.in. V8 takes 14 gal. of oil and three filters.
