I'm posting with the heaviest of hearts. We put our oldest girl down, today. Trinity/Trinny/Boo, has been with us for 10 years. In 2007 I drove 5 hours in a blizzard, to rescue her from a kill shelter. We have Siberians, and she was in the most pathetic place I saw on petfinder.com. We I got there, I immediately realized that the shelter had exaggerated her breed a bit. However, after having driven all that way to get her...I wasn't leaving her. Her previous owner had dumped her at the pound, at EIGHT years of age. She was immediately part of the pack, and became our Hillbilly Husky. Her personality was the greatest a person could want, though she had a huge prey-drive. Being as wonderful as she was, I had to know her lineage. We did a DNA test on her, and found out she was only 25% Husky. She's always been loyal, comforting, playful, and loved everyone. At 12 years of age, she blew-out both rear ACL's. We had 2 choices, and opted to have surgery done on her legs. She came thru like a champ! Six years later, I'm devastated that we finally have to say how much we love her, and I know we'll see all our rescued Huskies, again. I love you Boo, and God-Speed. We've been overly honored to have had her a whole normal dog's life, on top of the 8 years before we got her in our lives. 18 years for a large dog. Quite the run.

Sorry for your loss Mike, its hardest thing to do!
Had my yellow lab for 19 wonderful years when I had to do it, still miss him to this day.

Thank you. We've rescued a bunch, and it's never any easier to say good-bye to one of your fuzzy kids. I've been crying all day....but it was time. Her rear legs just wouldn't support her anymore. She went very peacefully.

Mmissle . . . my heart goes out to you and your family for your loss - not only did you save her and give her a great life , you took great care of her until the end .

Boo was lucky to become a part of your family - you will see her again ( not soon - I hope )

Did you save her or did she save you ?

Thanks guys. People who really know me....know there isn't ANYTHING I wouldn't do to have more good-quality life with my fuzzy-kids. The other 3 will take awhile to realize she's not coming back. This sucks, so bad. After having done this with several others, you'd think that somehow it would be easier to deal with. Unfortunately for me....it's the opposite.

That stinks.
Never an easy day when we say Goodbye to our 4 legged friends

My condolences. My chihuahua is 14 and like a son. I dread this day.

My gsd is only 3.

Now I can't see the monitor again from moisture!! Crying for you & re-crying for all the ones I've lost over the years. Why is it that you always say "never again" and then turn right around and start all over?!

So sorry to hear about that Mike I know what it's like to lose a dog or a pet. I just lost my wife in October of 2016 and recently adopted a dog from PetSmart just so I could have company in the house I have no children and this is the best dog I've ever had. And by the way it was rescued from Tijuana Mexico

I'm so, so sorry to read/hear that,
you have my deepest heartfelt condolences,
goes out to you & your family or other pets too...
{remember they morn too}

Our furry friends are truly like family {part of the pack}
{or more than family in many cases}
Always loving, loyal, faithful, trustworthy, companions,
truly Man's best friends...

May Boo RIP

Sorry for your loss, it never does get easier

So Sorry for your loss....they are the only ones (when you arrive home) truly happy to see you...God be with you, and hope you meet on the bridge when the time comes

So sorry for your loss, my animals are like family to me as well. We give them best life possible because they give us so much and ask for so little in return. I can't imagine my life without them around. Some people say they feel weird/embarrassed if they cry when a companion dies...I say it's the other way around.

Best wishes during this difficult time.
