Customer supplying parts and fluid........thanks.

I usually charge $50/hour when working out of the garage. Fluid and filter i would probably charge 1.5 hours which If I recall correctly is book time. (Haven’t been on all data in a while)

make sure they supply modern fluid
Dexron is way obsolete
+4 has better base stock
or fully synthetic
I'd also disconnect the rear cooler line and see if you get a quart in 20 seconds at idle in N
plugged coolers are common and you do not want future problems to be your fault
is there a converter drain?

If they are just going to pay cash,
$80 they supply the parts.

He didn't bring the +4 like I told him to get....brought the Dexron instead. And no on the drain plug :(

Well Dexron is what was called for after Type A went away
but it does not like cold and does not like heat and has to be changed much more often than +4 or a fully synthetic
and does not work if there is a lock up converter- tears them up with shudder eventually- which plugs up the cooler and...

Yup, I know that +4 is much much better. And it took me some effort to convince him he didn't want a spool in the rear end for a mostly street driven car. He's learning lol. The rear end is finished and now I'm working on fixing some minor crap and doing the trans.....but now it's it beer 30 :D

good point
spools break parts on the street
besides it's harder to set up a car to go straight with a spool installed- get it working open diff firts
if one side goes up in smoke he is not going to get equal traction even with a spool as the other tire will still be doing all the work
get him to go driveshaft loop and good dana spicer u joints
then a frame connector
much more important than a few tenths
