Anybody know of a good cleaner to clean seat belts? I have them all out and had them soaking in laundry detergent and also Oxyclean. Which by the way Oxyclean took red wine out of my tan couch.
However these belts will not come clean.
Any help!

If it's just dirty I've had some luck with hand cleaner. Rub it in to the material and repeat every day. After 5 days rinse it out and do a final wash of the material with Dawn dish soap and warm water till clean. If the material is faded the only choice is to replace the webbing. You can sew this on a home machine but you will need the largest needle that will fit in the machine and nylon thread, otherwise take the belts to a good upolstery shop and have them sew it. Check out this site for webbing and belts http://www.gotbelts.com/

How about a dye? I've got them sort of clean. And yes they are faded a little. So I was thinking to dye them a little darker to hide the few stains that I cant get out. My friend ownes an interior shop and he said the belts wont take the stain? Any thoughts????

The problem with dying is it won't dye evenly. Originally the thread is dyed before the belts are woven. I have never heard anything good about dying. Most of the attempts were made with RIT dye. Good luck.
