Good to have friends!! I have a donated master cylinder and a fab oil pan!!Parts are rollin in and the pistons WILL be here this week after Fedex screwed up,,,,
Chippin away.Time is hard to find to find these days.Progress is slow but I am VERY happy with the results!
Ordered parts are in,just have to finish the fabrications. Then more parts will be sent out to polished and the fuel pump goes back to Magna Fuel for a freshen up.Tube came in at the speed shop so the header tubes can be finished and the headers get sent out and recoated. The lifter have been rebuilt and waiting to go back when ready.Except for the Cometic head gaskets and exhaust flange gaskets EVERYTHING is made by Superperformace and the best gaskets I have ever used!
Few more.Finish mocking, then clean, prep and paint engine compartment.I hope my old Mopar Performance Paint is still good.I have 5 cans that seem to still be but We'll find out
So you can see the engine set back, aluminum Master and strut bars.Headers are now done and can get sent out to be recoated. Will start the shortblock this week.Heads are back from the weld shop where they tigged the o-rings closed.Heads will be milled this week, just a few thou to square them up.
Found a very cool brace for the steering box! Also had to port the header flanges exhaust roof to fit the .750 raised head. It's coming together
Cippin away
This "work" thing is getting in the way of progressA friend donated a fab aluminum oip pan and for what I paid for a pair of aluminum strut bars, was almost a donation.Still waiting on the chassis shop to bend some tube for me.We bent up some brake line in the shape of the CM tube I want.
Heads back from the welder, closed the o-ring groove. Now I can bring them to the machine shop to be milled.
Should be picking up the "J" bars that are finally getting bent TODAY.After the bars are installed and braced, need to fabricate some new upper shock mounts. Then clean the engine compartment and paint.
Maybe put the shortblock together this weekend.Might get the heads back from getting milled today also.
Bought a new camera last night so I can take pic's again!
Picked a new camera, another Cannon.T took thousands of pic's & vids with that old camera.
Some pic's from today.Picked up the "J" bars I had made in CM.Will be able to weld the pipe in the tight opening in the firewall. That should help tie everything together. The blower scoop, intake, valve covers and engine plate are getting repolished and should have them this week.Soon as we finish installing the j's,we can start engine assembly. I need to degrease the engine compartment and control arms and spray bomb everything.
Picked up the heads from the machine shop.Very nice! "J" bars are perfect! Will fab shock mounts of the J bar and a few other braces.Should start coming together real fast.
The hole through the fire wall is so tight it can be welded to the firewall with one bead! Also need to open up the intake ports to match the larger ports
Few more pics
Waiting on all the stuff I sent out to be polished, recoated headers and fuel pump rebuilt.
Will black out one grille set and polish the other, can't decide which will look better.....
When we are done welding,I will take the car back to my garage, degrease and clean,,then paint. After the car comes out we will have the room to assemble the long block.Blower, carbs and all will be installed in my shop.
I can drop the blower on myself, just like when I lifted it off.
"J" bars and a few supports are in.Few more supports and small things, then I can take the car back to my shop to degrease, sand and paint.Shooting for Carlisle!
