If you think the story we got that the engine was idling and then it exploded is fishy, then everyone at GYC would agree with you. We have yet to learn what "actually" happened to the Sunroof car, but we have our suspicions, some of them we mentioned in the show, some we won't say as we have zero proof to back it up. The point is, there was nothing to ever suspect the engine was faulty when it was installed - it was inspected by our machine-shop, it was ran on the Engine Runstand, it was driven for several days for it's initial reveal and it didn't have any problems. The owner had it for a year without issues.
Nevertheless, as you saw in the episode, the engine was ruined and so, because we cannot prove it wasn't our fault, we replaced the engine at no cost.
And for the individuals who have used this situation to use toward their negative campaign against GYC, guess what - we don't care. We've have a whole lot filled with customers who appreciate the quality we do and it's because of how we handle rare situations like this that keeps the doors open. It will be that way long after the show expires.
Thanks for tuning in and watching. Next weeks episode, we find out why our 340 Engine was giving us problems a few weeks ago.
