I just freed up almost 40 hp by letting my accusump do the work instead of running too much oil.
I was running a static pickup and was noticing that at the stripe, at decal,my oil pressure was going down to 0 psi for almost 8 seconds before coming back up.
I added a accusump and added an extra 2 quarts to eliminate this problem only to find out my mph and et was off. MPH was 2 mph and et was .09.
After some research I came to the conclusion I had too much windage going on and it was slowing me down.
.09 doesn't sound like a lot but when you running high hp numbers and you lose 40-50 its a lot.
So I decided to run 3 quarts less oil and see what happens.
I remember years ago I added too much oil in my 63 plynmouth and I was off .2

An Acusump is best for dry start ups and Dose help also in the air gulp deal . But sounds to me that you have a windage issue ?
A better tray / pan set up may be your best ticket !?!
Ever look into a dry sump deal ?

This is where i mounted my moroso accusump. I hated seeing it and didn't want to mount it on my inner fender.

My stroke is way too big for a windage tray, cant use one.
I do use it for prelube to avoid dry startups.

You also can make one out a Moroso kit . It's a heavy Screen that you form to your crank. Sounds funky but it DOSE work !
Made one for a ford motor in a dirt car we use to run.

4.625 STROKE Callies Crank

You need one of these:

Moch-ed up not ever run

These were the ticket when fuel cars still ran wet sumps with Mopar pattern pans. Easily clears 4.5 + strokes with huge aluminum rods.

I also would like to know where to buy them.

Kind of possibly sounds like you need a baffle built into & in the pan around your oil sump/pick-up to keep the oil pick-up submerged better, stop oil from running away from the pick-up when you do them big *** wheelies & hard breaking, along with a windage tray, probably wouldn't hurt... what did your engine builder recommend ??... Milodon has one advertised for up-to a 1" stroke {would be 4.75", they run alum. rods too}, Fueler type Windage tray #32055 saw it on their website... www.milodon.com/oil-system/windage-trays-studs.asp... will not work with street strip type pans, needs to be an open pan like a F/C or T/F car has... {I've never used it thou} if not them try BAE www.bradanderson.com/ or Allan Johnson Racing {AJPE} www.alanjohnsonperformance.com/ or www.Racecarparts.com/ or Steff's Fabrication or Ray Barton Racing or Keith Black Engines or Dan Olson or Canton Racing etc.

those seem to be out of production.unless I'm wrong.
summit & jegs don't list them anymore.

not sure about Jegs or summit, but it was on Milodon's site still, maybe call or contact them directly, I know they are/were steel & heavy too thou like 5.1 lb's...

I think Canton will custom make stuff like that.

I don't know think Copperhead is in business anymore. Might check the classifieds here:icon_thumright:

Chris,

I don't know if you're going to be able to run the windage tray with the Charlies Pan. He runs a screen that bolts inside the pan right at the level of the drag link tube. You may be able to make it work but you might want to talk to Charlie about it while the pan is back in his shop.
Just a thought.
