Just because it says Harbor Frieght doesn't always mean it is junk.If the liability issues for injury or death were that great with this item, HF wouldn't even have this on the market! Out of 84 critiques, 94% would recommend it, 52 people give it a 5 star rating, and 22 people like it for it's durability says a lot more then your generic made up false statement! Nice try on your attempt to slander HF, FAIL!
I have used a different one on a smaller scale, lifted only about 2 feet. For things like brake jobs, shocks, and whatnot, they our a blessing to have, no more crawling on concrete with no room underneath the vehicle. Oil changes, U-joint jobs and such, they aren't real great as the lift gets in your way.
I didn't watch the video so I don't know what safety things they've installed from preventing collapses, but the unit I used to use did have a safety feature to prevent it from falling. I would have to venture to say that I'm sure all types of lifts now days have some type of safety feature to prevent accidents or they wouldn't be on the market!! I hope this helps?
Bang Zoom to the moon!Just because it says Harbor Frieght doesn't always mean it is junk.
Like you said it has to meet minimum safety standards or the liability alone would cause them
not to sell it.
I love it when someone chimes in dogging a company......Please tell me what mass variety of tools, equipment etc have one had?
Your comparing high quality and very expensive tools....ones you use daily for your living.....apples to oranges....Almost everything that I own is Snap On, Matco and Mac, as I made my living with them for years. I have posted many pictures of both my tools and my tool boxes right here on this forum. A simple search of the tools and shops section will show that. Harbor Freight is throwaway, Chinese junk, plain and simple. If you just need something to do a job once, then buy HF. Everything that I own I purchased with the intention of using it forever. So I buy American.
All that junk tool has to do is fail ONCE at the wrong time and you can ruin something or worse, injure yourself badly. You don't skimp on your cars, why would you skimp on the tools that you use on them?Your comparing high quality and very expensive tools....ones you use daily for your living.....apples to oranges....
If I used them for my living then I would pay up for Snap on etc....
For me that use then once in a blue moon they perform as expected....
Not every tool I have is from them.....I have mainly craftsman and snap on...From HF...I have a press, cherry picker, a few hand tools(pry bars, wires brushes, air sockets)etc.....used many times and zero issues......All that junk tool has to do is fail ONCE at the wrong time and you can ruin something or worse, injure yourself badly. You don't skimp on your cars, why would you skimp on the tools that you use on them?
That was when Craftsmen was Made in the USA. My first tools set as a teenager was Craftsmen. I still have some of them that I keep as doubles.I use to laugh when I was plant EMT at a glass bottle plant in the early '80's using my Craftsmen tools to keep the bottle lines running. I had a mortgage on a house at 22 years old and all the older guys rented theirs and had a mortgage due to the Snap on truck !
It's not designed to work underneath it you moron! Why are people so obtuse about this one simple thing about this lift? You pick and choose. However, there ain’t no way I’m getting under neath that thing in post #1.
Yeah, I’m the moron. Thanks for clearing that up. Under it, beside it, near it, whatever. It's not designed to work underneath it you moron! Why are people so obtuse about this one simple thing about this lift?
PM me, I am interested in them.Let me just say this.......Have had a few close friends check out leaving nice Snap on and Matc boxes filled with a mix of tools. They must of had $75K invested yet you can't sell one of them for over 3 or 4 Thousand,,,,,SAD!
