hi all,

i have not started my coronet in about 10 months. it is a 440 with 727 trans.

i started an MSD Atomic EFI upgrade then got busy finishing up an mba program. now i am back on the efi project.

i have been charging the battery on the weekends.

i am thinking the oil has settled to the bottom pretty good.

the upgrade should be finished this week and i should fire up the car this weekend i hope.

my plan was to do an oil change before firing it up. is that necessary or do you think i can just fire it up once i get fuel in the tank?

thanks,

watermelon

Just fire it up. If you want to get **** about it you can pull the distributor and prime it first. OR pull the plugs and squirt some marvel mystery oil into the cylinders.

Agreed...I would simply fire it. Oil has drained down, but parts are still coated. Oil is flowing the moment you hit the switch. If you're worried, disconnect the coil or power to your new EFI and crank it for a bit.
