Headers for a 64 Fury with a short deck 496 please...Again.....

Hello all: I'm in a spot here, don't know what to do & am sure this has been answered before but I can't find it.
Anyway, the whole problem centers around the Edelbrock RPM heads that this motor has. Nobody makes a header over 1.750'' for this combination, not even T.T.I. I spent the last few days talking myself into believing I could live with 1.875'' primarys only to find that nobody makes them, let alone the 2.000'' tubes that I'd like to have.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

These are the 2" TTI's I have on my 440 RB block in my 63. They fit the RB block good and I thought they would fit the low block but I am not sure if everything will clear on the lowblock. Ron

Thanks for the responce, but I bet you're using an RB block, correct? RPM heads on a tall deck are no problem, "everybody" makes 2.00'' headers that will work on that application. The problem is when you combine the stock exhaust port location of the RPM head and a low deck (B) block height, at least in a '64 B body nobody makes a header with primarys larger than 1.750''.

I guess what I'm really asking is what 2.00'' header comes the closest to fitting... I've got a porta power, torch, tig, selection of pry bars & hammers & I'm not afraid to use them on a new bare set of super comps or even TTIs if I can start with something that that don't need to be cut apart & started over on ( no making replacement tubes or even tube sections ) Thanks guys!

Thanks for the kind words. My point was just that of what you said. Will the 2" TTI headers I have with the RB block work on your B block ? We need to look under my car or a early B with the 2" TTI's and see if they look like they will fit dropped down 3/4". You might try over at Moparts in the Race section as they have alot of racers over there who should know if the same headers I use will work on you B block. Good luck , Ron

Check TTI's website. My 2" TTI headers fit well with Edelbrock Performer Heads on a 440 raised block. I have a '66 K frame and I am using elephant ears and not original motor mounts. Also I have moved my motor back as far as possible. A low deck combo may have some issues, I am not sure. Give TTI a call, I am sure they will help you out. The best fitting headers I have ever had are Hedman #78030. They are 1 3/4" but they fit well. If you are not running an all out race application, they will work fine.

I had the Hedman 1-3/4 Elite headers on my old mid 440. They worked well as it ran 11.49 using them headers. Ron
