It all comes down to which is more important to you then you can favor that way with the torsion bars 86,88, 90 strip, or above 90 for street. As said before it's a compromise.
use'em.Just looked at my stock bars and they are 780 and 781 so according to chart .920
Just finished up my winter suspension project. Some of the parts used smaller bars Firm Feel, Strange double adjustable shocks coil overs Riely motorsports A arms, Calvert 90/10 front shocks new tie rods and bushings, existing Strange disc brakes all four wheels, corner balanced, View attachment 301746View attachment 301747View attachment 301748View attachment 301749
use'em.
So I just want to say thanks to all you guys for the info.
(.96 - 1.06 to stiff for the track)
(.82 - .84 not so good on the street)
(.88 being stock is probably a safe middle ground)
From the feed back I've been getting maybe this is one place I can save a couple bucks and reuse the stock set I already have? Don't know what size they are but was an original POLY car no/AC.
Anyone had a problem with reusing 50 year old bars?
the bars are 875Canyon what size bars did you go to?
I use an .875 barSo Going to stick with the stock .92 bars for now. Should work fine and if I remember correctly it drove fairly well on those (with the POLY) Even without a sway bar. So with the big block, aluminum Heads, Intake, Water Pump, Bogeson Box, Tubular cross member, Control Arms, Aluminum radiator, Battery in trunk, With a added sway bar, Should actually handle better then stock and hopefully manage to get from A to B respectfully.
