I have a cast iron distributor I need help trying to ID. The metal tag has 2444653 IBS4011HS265. On the main housing it has Chrysler printed with a paint stamp, duel points, tach drive, vac advance, and tube sticking out the side to oil it. Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, let me ask this question another way. Forget about part numbers and tell me what car would have come from the factory with a tach drive distributor? Would a race distributor bought through Direct Connection had vac. advance?

Tried a quick look at the #s, but no results.

You might try looking at early '60s Mopar performance parts books. Mopar was real big time into the racing/performance stuff back then, and tried many different things, such as ignition, intakes, on and on.

Vaguely recall seeing something on those lines. The way that distributor was built, I'd figure strictly a factory racecar part, being dual point and sporting a tach drive. Don't think a iron housing would have been too popular, though.

Good luck on your hunt!!

Thanks for the reply's guys. Claw, the photo at the bottom of the Chrysler 300 page is exactly the distributor that I have, only different part numbers.
