i cant get my fuel pump to pump any fuel eliminated tank and etc. brand new holley fuel pump. i think my fuel pump rod is worn down but cant find a measurement on it. can anyone give me the length for the fuel pump actuator rod for a 440 Please

3.242" Some folks are also having a hard time getting them out due to the end "mushrooming". Cant be good.

I had a fuel pump push rod wear out on my 383 years ago.I removed the push rod a you could see is was wore bad.You my try pulling out the push rod to see what it looks like.Sorry I don't have the length.

I appreciate it alot guys. that has to be whats wrong with mine then. mine measures 3.006. .236 thousands of a inch is worn off the damn thing. anybody ever have this problem before. mine came right out thank god. it would run fine all they way till about 3800 and then just die. let off gas be fine. then i couldnt even get gas at all to it. put a new pump nothing. pull push rod and thats what i have. do they ever break off inside the bore

Did you mix up the inlet and out let lines??
I saw one new out of the box with the gasket on wrong. The opening on the valve body bottom gasket must match the opening on the inlet.
If it's on wrong there will not be any incoming fuel to the pump.

no lines are fine push rod is wore down .236 thousandths. thats my problem. everybody else agree. line is not kinked to tank. new sock in tank. inlet and outlet correct. push rod wore down .236 thousandths of a inch. that make it not pump any fuel correct.

.236 is about a 1/4"', and thats a MILE when it comes to machining specs! There was alot of talk, on mymopar.com regarding this subject. I think you should be fine now. good luck man.

The general opinion on this on the web is, Chinese Junk, improperly heat treated, or the zinc in oil issue.
