If you could have one car, what would you choose and why. a 426 HEMI with an auto or a 440 six pack with a 4spd?

Lets take this a step further. Hypothetically, its a 70 V code bee or a 68 HEMI coronet. Both complete projects. Both in about the same condition, both pretty close to the same price. Both red, with white stripes. Bee is a ramcharger hood. HEMI car is missing all the drive train and correct K frame, bee has 4spd and dana, no engine.

440 six pack with a 4spd.

Do you have a chance to buy either one?

a 440 6pack is faster /quicker than a street 426 hemi .
i like both so thats an open question

I've had both a hemi automatic & Hemi 4 speed and I think the hemi is better suited with an automatic. I'va also had 2 4 speed 440-6 cars & I like them as they were.

I would get the Hemi only because its a hemi car. The 6pk car would be cool also. Buy both.

What's the choice between? Faster or more fun? The Hemi auto might shift faster, but there is no doubt the 4 speed is loads more fun to drive !!!!!!

As much as I would love to own a HEMI car whether it be 4 speed or auto, I would go with a 6-pack 4 speed car any day....gotta have something for that left leg to do on a road trip. :hello2: And side-stepping a clutch is sooo much fun. :headbang:

I think the "numbers" on the 68 Bee are very exclusive...
Extremely LOW production car.
But hey...it is all dependent on "what you like/want"

Again, as I always say....
"Dont buy what the market dictates...buy what YOU want/LIKE"

I'd personally take the 68 year model Coronet ?
{I assume from what you wrote, 68 it's not a Super Bee ?}
over a 70, 68 is my favorite year across the board,
But if ones a Coronet & not a Super Bee ?...

That may sway it towards the Super Bee for me...
Unless the 68 is an R/T, hands down then the 68, regardless of trans type...

I like the 70 V code Super Bee 440 six pack 4 speed & Dana 60, I really like that combo,
not a big fan of red though, I do think the 70's body style is a good looking car...

But the 68 I like better, so it would be a tough choice...

Really depends on what all came, with what car...
But best of both worlds is a 68 Coronet 426 Hemi 4 speed {18 spline} & Dana 60 would be cool as hell,
but that's not an option, so the Hemi & 727 Auto would be cool too...

Buy both...LOL

But for the best bang for the buck, which is more complete ?,
is one more complet more trim & hard to find parts etc. ?
does either one have any of the OE engine or drivetrain ?
does the 70 have 440 six pack manifold & carbs or engine &
the 18 spline 833 trans or Dana 60 still ?

The 68 with no Hemi, no K member suspension or drivetrain in the 68 ?
IMHFO your just basically buying a fender-tag, vin & build sheet
unless it's a screaming deal I'd pass, it will cost 2 times as much to build correctly...

NOW
If $$$ isn't a factor, the 68 Hemi car can bring more $$$,
I guess if your not going to sell, building it for yourself, it doesn't really matter,
But if you can find & use the proper date coded parts
& it's done correctly, the Hemi car can theoretically bring or be worth more $$$...

If it's just for fun, seat of the pants, shits & giggles buy the 70 Super Bee
440 six pack 4 speed car...

If it's for bragging rights get the 68 Hemi car...

Yes, these cars are available. I really wish I could buy both, but I don't think there is any realistic way that I could. The super bee comes with two parts cars including a 383 Bee. 70 bees are my favorite car. 68 coronet R/T's are in my top five. So it's kind of tough. I will be buying one though. The main thing I am looking at is the cost of the HEMI. As for body work and availability, the 68 would probably be cheaper and easier, but the 70 has a ramcharger hood and I love some of the items available on the 70. The other thing to mention is I am a true believer to build the car how you want since its your money and your car. However I won't take to much away from the originality either. The HEMI car is only about 3k more, but doesn't come with the extra parts.

Head vs Heart.

I think my heart would win. DAMMIT! It's a Hemi...

My brain tells me that the 440-6 would be better... but, DAMMIT! It's a Hemi!

426 auto...because i'm just too old and lazy to push in a clutch pedal that often. And...I mean...it's a HEMI!!!!

If everyone had a HEMI, would they be as special?? :eusa_think:
