Sonny says, Definitely a 440/6pac....'er no....HEMI & AUTO...er'..no 4SPEED with 6 Pac....:icon_silent::happy3::argue::confused4::eusa_snooty::eusa_doh::icon_rolleyes::3gears::tongue3::argue:

6 Pac & 4 speed, hands down....

.... but I CAN shift as quick as that auto!

I've had my six barrel 4 speed car for over 35 years, time to give a hemi auto a try, or maybe not, I am so confused.

I like Hemi's, but I have never been a Hemi guy. But I love the look of the six barrel 440 with the grabber. I also rode in a 71' 6 pack 440 four speed GTX when it was new, ( friend 's car while in the USAF) I have never ridden in another car like that with 104 octane that I enjoyed as much. I was in it when he dominated a hemi one time. that car was scary wicked!
The guy had no fear, and was able to really push that car.

Can't knock the Hemi but the 440 6 is in the garage! :headbang:

on the street 440/6 ..I don't race often ..we have a 1/8 mile track and I think the 440/6 would take the hemi in the 1/8 mile ..I remember the street manners of the hemi from back in the day.. of course if you twist my arm or think about twisting it I could settle for the hemi for bragging rights and owing a legend

It would be interesting to see the poll results of both cars were 833 equipped.

Been there done that, I'll take a HEMI any day with an auto. Easier on parts and more on the fun scale.

I have the 440 - 6. Love it and would trade it for anything. But like most of the responses above say "it's a Hemi"! They're both super cool cars. You'll be happy which ever way you go. Go with your gut.

I am going to say 440-6-4spd, no doubt about... Just a FUN car to drive..

NOW, that being said, for coolness factor, value, and just hard to find awesomeness.... HEMI, I dont car if it was a single speed with a centri clutch and a solid axle with sprocket weelded to it, its a HEMI....

But for driving around and having fun, 6 pack 4 speed is the best, if you never felt a 6pak come to life and open up the secondaries, you haven't lived through auto nirvana... and the 4speed is just rancid enough to have fun with, of course making it whole is the pistol grip effect... Just marketing genius,,,

Hemi auto
Just like my 1970 Superbee...

(cant out-shift an automatic)
Might not be able to using a stock shifter! And a pistol grip shifter handle never felt right to me. Throw in a good clutch, a Vertigate in good condition with a T handle and I'm willing to take it on :D

Buy the 70, then find a hemi engine and stick it in. Best of both worlds, I would go with what you like best and not just because it has a specific engine, you will have to live with the decision for a long time. In one of your other threads you said that your 70 bee was your dream car, why get rid of it so soon.

Let me get this straight, there's some folks out there who would rather have a 440-6bbl instead of a Hemi. That's great! More Hemi parts for me!

I would rather have the plainest most common 66' b-body hemi car over the rarest highest optioned b or e-body 6pack car any day.

Tough choice indeed!

If your just interested in Sunday cruises than an auto is the way to go.

But...for me a 4spd 440 6pack brings you into the reality of the muscle car era. I am all about interactive driving!

hemi without a trans, before the BB/6bbl.

I like the 6 pack engine but would like to have the cash for a hemi. If the hemi car doesn't have the k member or drive train I would pick the other choice. I had to make a similar decision too. I had a hemi GTX I bought as a rolling chasi but it only had the Dana left, k member was switched out. It was a 4 speed car too. But I knew that I wouldn't be able to get a Hemi or k member so I sold it to finish the 67 R/T I picked up . It has the correct drive train and was more complete. I do miss the X withe the air graber hood but I still have a real R/T and I'm kind of partial to the coronet body style. So like it has been said buy what you like and build what you want. Good luck both good choices though.
