If any of you guys have a stock 66 or 67 Hemi with the standard 6 qts, could you give me the measurement in inches of your dipstick from the tip to the collar at the top. Thanks
I think most of you know I bought this beautiful Hemi GTX recently. It had the wrong oil in it so I changed it. Before it was changed, the dipstick showed full. I ran it and drained the hot oil and replaced the filter. I put in the standard 6 qts. and checked the diptstick. It now reads wxactly 1 qt. low. Nothing has changed. The only explanation I can think of is when the previous owner changed the oil, put in 6 qts andf checked it and saw it was a quart low, they just added another qt. to bring it up to full. It is bone stock, including the oil pan.

If you don't have any luck here, you might email Frank Mitchell. Just google Frank Mitchell Mopar parts. I am sure he would probably be glad to give you a measurement because I am sure he has the right dipstick.......and who knows? You might end up needing it. As I've said before, Frank's not the cheapest, but he HAS the stuff if you need it. He's never done me wrong.

I located and purchased a NOS Hemi dipstick for a 66-67 motor. It read full when I put it in. This is with the 6 qts. of oill. There is a big difference. I have yet to see a correct repro stick made.
