Hoovie buys a Superbird

I asked the seller on BAT for a picture of the Galen doc. He claimed he didn’t get it from the previous owner.

Is that banging when he's riding around caused by the torsion bars being cranked all the way down to get the front ride height low and now it's bottoming the suspension? Or they put light duty bars in there?

I like that the ad says "240 mph speedo decal, not a frivolous upgrade". Yeah that's the definition of a frivolous upgrade.

It's on coilovers, when they looked at it they thought maybe they were the wrong stroke length, so yea probably either cranked the springs to the moon or bottoming out.

I selectively read posts too often. I missed the part about the alterkation k member, thanks for clearing that up for me funk.

New video

Wizard says it's good for going 200mph.
I dont know everything about superbirds but to my knowledge the street versions are the same as a regular roadrunner underneath.
So i highly doubt any superbird except the race cars can do 200mph as i would not expect a street hemi to survive that speed for any extended period of time. Especially not that aftermarket built hemi.

I could be wrong, though.

Stop clicking on this idiots stupidity and making him money....:poke:

Bingo -Cal Norton-.gif

I skipped his new ferrari videos but i'm interested what happens with the superbird (vin plate)

Y'all complain that nobody's going to care about these cars in 20 years and then complain more when someone from a younger generation gives them air time and draws attention to them.

Do they get all their facts 100%? Nope. Are they respectfully showing off an iconic car to millions of younger viewers? You bet.

He's not some whistlindiesel a-hole that destroys cars in the name of clicks, give the guy a break.

He seems like the male version of one of those Kardashian broads. The rich spending money. Kinda boring.:D

I think the vids he does are more about himself, and the feeding of his voracious ego, than about the cars. They're nothing to him but stage props. Something to stick his face in front of while he hams it up and gets his self-gratification. Another legend in his own mind. Sad that some of our younger generation are gullible enough to support this clown. Hopefully they'll clue up soon enough and toss him in the x-file where he belongs.

Hoovie is pretty confident in his bird being real ^^

He’s probably hoping to get more than he paid for it. Which begs to question... He bought it on Bring a Trailer, a site that more than a few car collectors in the know watch. Why such a low price for a “real” E74 D21 Superbird?

It was wrecked, repaired with a "partial rebody" and restomodded with a non-original hemi engine and TKO 5-speed, and wasn't very well sorted when sold. It has the US car tools frame connectors. Not much original left on the car, I'm sure. He claims the core support SO# is there but the trunk SO# is gone.

Was it a body swap and they switched the core support and dash VIN tag? Or did they just replace the damaged metal? Anyone's guess I suppose. If it was a body swap I guess it would have the old trunk SO# from the donor body unless they chopped it out.

I don't watch these cars closely, but I suspect he'll get at least what he paid once it's sorted and back on the road.
