Hey just got in my Hotchkis sway bar set from Hotchkis.net for my 70 challenger.
Apparently this kit does a great job. Check out some of the videos online.
What do yall think about it?
The car is a 440 clone, originally had a slant 6, so Im not worried about changing it from stock. As a matter of fact, it originally didn't even have any sway bars so i'd say it's a big improvement as far as steering response and stability.
Has anyone tried this? I'll post pictures and tell yall about how i like the results soon
(I know its not a b-body, but I like to get multiple opinions) :)
 
I was planning on putting the front and rear sway bars, sub frame connectors, and leaf spring kit in my 70 Charger this winter. So keep us informed. Was it hard to install?
 
Haven't started yet. I didn't realize that my car needed lower control arm brackets, so I had to order them. I'll let ya know as soon as I get started
Apparently it's all pretty simple other than welding the brackets on
 
I put the front on my 68 Charger and it made a big difference. I also lowered the car 2" which obviously helped also.

did you use the Hotchkis kit to do the lowering of the car or did you use something else like 2" drop spindles from pst?

i've been looking at the Hotchkis kit as well as lowering my Coronet too.

Subframe connectors make a big difference. I got 4 Bilsteins Shocks from Hotchkiss and the ride and handling has improved. Next the rear sway for me.
 
I'd also consider torque boxes as well if your're putting in or it has a 440

when you say adding torque boxes I've heard this a couple times now - where on the car do you install them ? any pics?

At the four corners of the car, underneath. Fwd of the rear spring attach point and at the corners of the front of the car

is there a place where you can buy these boxes or do you just make them yourself?
 
I just bought torque boxes and am having them welded into my 68 satellite this week. I bought them from sheetmetalstuff.com
Real nice pieces and the guy Brian who makes them is real cool.

For subframe connectors I went with tubular from Global West. They're awesome looking and only weld in at the ends, which is better than bolt-in, which can become loose, but no welding required along the entire length of the floor, just a little dremel grinding at one location by the seat mount bolts.
 
Here are the photos of my '68 Satellite with the tubular Subframe connectors I bought from Global West and the front and rear torque boxes I bought from Sheet Metal Stuff. I took all of it to a frame shop and they welded in the torque boxes around the perimeter seams and the tubular subframe connectors are welded in at each end. I can tell a noticeable difference when I'm sitting in the car driving that the car feels more solid and rigid. Can't feel the torque boxes, but they're supposed to protect your frame from twisting with high horsepower.

The subframe connectors were cheap! Only $155 / pair. I like these a lot because I only had to weld each end instead of along the entire floor and since they're tubular they give you more resistance against twisting and flexing than a square channel type connector.

The pre-made torque boxes from sheet metal stuff welded in with no issues from what my weld guy said. Real nice pieces and made to fit this car.
