How bad of an idea is this?

i bought sight unseen once..had a deep scratch, which i knew about..but when i went to repair the scratch at my friend's b/shop..we found there was no primer under the paint.

I decided to pull the trigger on a car. The only downside is that the car is across the country. Seller has sent me whatever pics i've asked for and answers all questions. Flying in and checking the car out was out of the question so this is the only alternative.get lots of pics and lots of questions, thoughts anyone?

After being "hosed" from an older gentleman from Texas, I would NEVER buy sight unseen again. AND a few trips after cost Me travel money...but I didn't get a misrepresented car. I believe there are some "honest" people out there but too few in car sales

Yeah. What they said. If the owner has nothing to hide, he won't mind a bit someone comin by to inspect or take pics for you. If he flinches at that idea, find another car.
