How does your mopar hibernate?

Don’t you have enough?
I’m a little ‘lite’ on the quota at the moment. Only one in the stable right now…

Perfect timing for this thread.
Mine went into my storage building in Nov. Unhook the neg cable , make sure the vents are shut, put the cover on.
Today I pulled the cover and fired it up for awhile, backed it outside and let it run up to temp. Pulled it back in and put her to bed till spring.
Worst thing you can do.

Now you've filled your exhaust system with moisture that's going to condense and prematurely rot out your exhaust system.

If you insist on starting your vehicle every few weeks or so, take it out and drive it far enough to purge the condensation from your exhaust system.

That post was for WildRT

Yours was just above his. lol
Yeah, I know. I posted just letting you know that Great Lakes was a Navy Base and Marines were not stationed there. Marines are part of the Navy, but no Marines were at Great Lakes Training Command. So Wild RT couldn’t have been a jarhead if he went to Great Mistakes, he had to have been a sailor like me.

Yup, NTC/RTN use to be just over the fence from MCRD... Actually the area right across the fence was known as "Worm Island" & it was closed years before the majority of NTC/RTC.... But it was open when I was there....

About the only thing left of RTC is the USS Recruit....
What year was that? I went to boot in 1985. I processed in through MEPs Oakland Ca. RTC in San Diego for Nukes wasn’t an option. They sent all of us to Great Mistakes for boot camp and A school. On a positive note if we made it through that we got to go to Orlando for Nuke Power School. Unfortunately after that I was issued orders to Idaho Falls for prototype training. That was a brutal winter as well.

77... Great Mistakes was January 4th 78....

is the intent of a full fuel tank (with Stabil added) as opposed to a less than 1/2 full tank also to minimize moisture during storage?

Mine sits in an unheated building parked on plastic. I put Stabil in the gas tank and have the tank full, then I pour a little ATF down the carbs while it's running to fog it. Then off for the duration of the endless salty WI winter. No cover. I flip the sun visors down in case a mouse would get in. It smokes for a few miles in the spring, but no issues, otherwise.

It's unknown how long mine will hibernate this year since I broke my clutch leg and foot in 2 places each this morning. Mucho ligament damage, too. :( I'll see a surgeon on Monday.

Yeah, the Hollywood Marines caught one of the guys from my group trying to run away on his first night in Boot... He jumped the fence to escape RTC & found himself in MCRD.... He got his wish, they booted him out & sent him home..
Luv it!!!

That is certainly unfortunate. I wish you well. I hope I can handle the clutch if I ever get the car finished.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, hopefully you can make a speedy recovery...

Fred used to wear a cover (he has a nice one) but it sort of leaves a funk on him come spring.
The last few winters, he's sitting in our unheated (but insulated and sturdy) garage next to the wife's
daily 2012 Charger R/T, so her door is open twice a day as she comes and goes...

I don't do much to Fred for storage other than close everything up, disconnect the battery and hook
up the Battery Tender, which does a wonderful job of keeping his big ol' 27 series battery topped up.

Oh...and @1 Wild R/T d ? Fred got out today, on a rare February day that set records with a high of 73.
Fired him up, gave him a quick dust off and off to town for some fresh alky-free high test.
For his part, he acted like we had just driven him yesterday...
Tough ol' buzzard, that Fred. :)

And that's the thing, can I drive my toys everyday? Yeah, but I wait for those days when the sun is out & the car needs to get a little workout...
