How many years have you owned a performance/classic vehicle ?

Bought mine at age 35. I’m twice that now.

Still not sure it’s classic or performance, but I like it.
You may like it... I don't like it....

19+ years a counting will be 20 years in Dec.
(I had several RRs at the same time this is my 13th 68-70 RR, 1 of 8 68s)
I got it from the 2nd owner, went & found the org. owners daughter
talked to her a bit, got some history
It "was" pretty much bone stock a lil' rough, lots of dents & a crease
only 60k miles, it was rode hard put away wet nightly
by the old man, an old Carpenter's car
it's a real performance car today

shortly after I got it looked far better, no photos of when I got it
"it was fugly", but had serious potential, very lil' rust
like 6 years later & another house, in 2011

I don’t think my 4 year old Sport Fury or 2 year old 70 GTO would qualify at the time. So, I guess my 66 Corvette I bought in 1980 would be the start unless you want to include my 72 Datsun pickup I rattled around in as a daily driver for awhile. Then I got a wild hair and sold the 66 in 85, bought a new Corvette and owned it for 3 years before getting bored and selling it. Bought another 66 Corvette in 1988 (still have it), my GTX in 2000, built my Cobra in 2009 time frame and bought my 66 Satellite in 2020. I still have all of the last 4 and it will probably be one of those - when they pry my cold, dead fingers loose - final closure deals.

'69 RR bought in '73. My first car. Still have it. 51 years.

I was 18 when I bought my 1970 Charger 500 for my first car back in 1986...I'm 56 now, so I've had her 38 years. My longest relationship thus far, by far!

67 Charger 53 years, this past October 16th. Our oldest son’s 1st birthday. Jim Rodebaugh still has the Charger he bought new in 1966.
43? That sounds a little light.
For the record, our son was born on October 16th 1969, their first daughter October 16th 1999, second daughter October 16th 2001.
We bought the above mentioned Charger on October 16th 1970.

57 years for me. I ordered my first one new in 1967, a Satellite 383 4-speed. I don't think I've missed a year since then, of having a performance car. All have been mostly Mopars, but I did have several C3 Corvettes, and a Porsche in 86. I started my collection of Mopars in 1990 with a 66 Satellite. Still have over 2 dozen Mopars from 1956-2022. A lot of them I've owned for 20 plus years. I also still own that 66 Satellite from 1990.
