It has been almost 2 years but we finally found it.

Nice size shop. You certainly shouldn’t meet boater’s fears. (All boats are either 2 feet to short or two feet to narrow). Our garage should have been two feet longer. Lack of funds didn’t allow it. But there is room park a vehicle behind it. Could build a roof and enclose it. Built the garage in 1981. So it will see us out I am fairly certain.

Exciting times! Moving into a new shop and getting everything organized the way you want it! Nice place. Congrats!

Waiting time is up!!!! Took possession today. It also happens to be our 34th wedding anniversary today. Perfect! Anyway, we got the keys and started moving stuff in. That will take a couple of weeks as we have stuff scattered in several storage locations, but it will happen. Some pics of the barn, carvings, and house.

Congratulations on the new place! I'd be in Hawaii if it were not for the kids and Grandkids!

Started to move stuff out of storage and I can see the car again. Man, she has a lot of antique furniture! Should have everything moved to the pole barn in the next few days. Then comes all the sorting and tossing. I give it a month before I can start working on the Challenger, maybe two.

The tools made it!!!! The wife and I loaded and unloaded them all. She is a whole lot stronger than than she looks, but if there is a next time, she will take a hard pass.

Last load of cargo will be tomorrow. Then we will can swap the cargo trailer for a car hauler, grab the Challenger, and give up the storage unit. PERFECT

I found 20 acres close to Buffalo Texas several years ago when I was married to my X and it had a young pecan orchard on it but the X didn't want to move 250 miles away from the kids. Ok....my mistake. Oh well. She wanted to own rental property close to town and well, I've been down that road before and wanted no part of that mess since I've had experience with that unless it was storage building property but she didn't want that either so we didn't buy anything. I'm glad she's gone!!

The storage unit is EMPTY !!!! The last item, the car, was moved out yesterday and brought to the pole barn. I have to admit that I actually thought that once we bought a home and moved in that I could kick back a little and do more work on various cars. Nope, we run around more now than we did when we were camping. It is go here, go there, help this person out, fix this car, fix that problem, build this, build that, and add to that all the little (some big) things that need to fixed/addressed on the "new to us" home. Maybe I can retire from being retired :)

YES, I know it is not a B-body but I have always liked this car and will make it my daily driver. But no sad face grille. That will be replaced with a 1970 grille.

Why are you going so much and helping others so much? My X wanted to always help 'her' family all the time especially when someone needed to move. I finally put my foot down on that mess when no one wanted to help me do anything.

I’m so envious of your energy but of course I don’t know your age. I LOOKED at my four projects today (hot and humid). Our family lived in Clio (20 miles north of Flint) for 5 years, except for the cold-snow I liked the state. I can’t move in my building (40x60) right now somethings got to go! Your place looks great, can’t imagine living in a trailer for a year.

Nice. I understand. I would leave liberal Colorado and move to Wyoming but I want to stay close to my kids.
You sound like my X! My parents lived 150 miles from me and (my wife and I) went to see THEM! We would have done that even if they lived further away. I 'we' catered to our kids when they were young and well, now it's their turn to cater to us and not control us but whatever floats your boat man! The X didn't want to move very far away from the kids because she didn't want to make it a 'hardship' for them to visit us....so....so much for buying some land that was cool. Oh well....to each there own. If you want to let your kids control you, so be it.

Back in the 80’s we hired an Orthotist from Ontario. She told us that after her husband Steve finished high school his parents sold their place in Toronto. Moved to Whiterock B.C. Bought a two bedroom condo, made one room an office.
This was so the kids couldn’t move back in, but could visit for short spells.

So it begins, bought the first part for the Challenger project. It was a GREAT deal so I just had to get it, even though it is one of the last parts I need. Still working on the "new" house correcting some issues, nothing too expensive, just very time consuming, like a retaining wall that was never put it. And there were some wiring irregularities that I noticed while figuring out the plan for the whole house generator, still legal, just not normal. No more hauling out the generator when power is lost.

It seems like the "couple of months" to get situated once you move in gets blown out as it takes longer than expected and you find there are tasks that need addressing. Like your wall, wiring, organizing, culling etc. Looks great!
