Excluding regular maintenance, how much have you spent on upgrades and/or enhancements on your car since you bought it? Multiple choices in case you have more than 1 car.

Bought it in 1988 for 3450. You really want me to add up those receipts?

well over $100k on mine, some bad choices during it though

you gonna tell my wife I wont answer you :rolling:

Me, 5 to 10 grand since I bought her and I'm still going when I can afford it. And I thought I was buying a restored driver; Ha!

More then i like to admit with my 73, guesstimating at 4 grand, My 69 about 7 to this point ( just really getting started), scares me to think about it and like others here i try not to discuss it with my wife of so many years, may ruin a long spell lol

More than $100k, and not really proud of that amount

I see most think like me and would rather not count haha. Guessing I'd say between $25,000-$30,000 for the full resto (total invested) and I don't regret one thing seeing how I basically have a brand new 69 Charger now. I would suggest that you don't count the pennies and just enjoy the voyage because in the end it's worth it.

That's right. When I fire up the mighty Mopar it's 1969 and I am 16. Miles of smiles for which you cannot put a dollar value.

I would think $20k of my 100 was on shipping from the states

A lot more than if I had bought a restored one to begin with!!! :banghead: But as someone else pointed out, it is the journey.

I'm in for almost 10k now including the 6k 493 I built. I figured after it's done all said I will have paid close to 35k. And what ever the number that's what the agreed upon insurance value will be. But the best is the memories I am gaining and new friendships as we'll are priceless.

Also to add building it slow piece by piece may take a lot longer but remember its do what you can when you can and for how much you can afford. We wish we could have bought fully restored cars but for most it wasn't in the cards in one chunk spend. Besides I'm having fun figuring how to do this stuff worth the savings and time. Hard to say that some times but it is.

$7600. $7500 that I paid for the car and $100 in little things.

I've got $8500 so far in the 68 GTS including cost of car. Plan is, to make engine bay perfect and paint body color, Redo front suspension and brakes (no parts yet) and install just done, rebuilt original 383 and 727. Then hang Straightened primered sheet metal from Quarters forward. Then I can drive the car as I work on the rest. Then.......... I can bring in the 70 Cuda 383 4spd numbers car that I bought a few months ago for 11k, and put it on the rotisserie. Already has new quarters on it and NO rust anywhere.

Awesome!!! Rust free 70 Cuda for 11k sounds like a bargain. Enjoy

One of these days I hope to land a 70-71 Challenger............................Maybe a better just count my blessings (the wife hasn't killed me yet).
