Only paid $8500 for my survivor Belvedere about 10 years ago and have probably put another 5K in it. I don't do 100 point restorations on cars anymore. It's more fun to drive a good running 25 footer around than worrying about getting a scratch in a perfect resto.

I don't exactly know, I don't wanna know, I tell my wife I don't know and I'm sticking to my story........

But if I had to guess, I'd say about 20K and it's still not over.

$350. But that is just today. A bargain too at 30% off Y.O. Told Linda there is a sale, did not go into detail.

I've put in about $26,000 and that was just for body and paint and still have a long way to go yet with no engine or trans so I'm thinking I will end up doubling that figure by the end

A little more than 35k I think, I spent in excess of 9k this year on the motor and various changes that were part of that process.

For me that number somehow magically ends up being what the car is worth if I were to buy one done. And that's just parts and materials.

I noticed the same thing, labor must be free ehhh?

it's a domino effect!..rebuild tranny, resurface flywheel, new pressure plate, throwout, disk, Pivot Stud "ball" Z bar,..on & on... :eusa_shifty:

Domino for sure. You start one thing and it goes downhill from there.

My last 3 were about 50, 140, and 90. I currently have well over 30 in the latest project/ride[car was no-charge]. It's almost a roller with drivetrain. This stuff is a sickness.

I have around 20,000 in mine and I did all the body work mechanical work, paint and assembly work it never ends its a sickness but I love it

Well I bought my 63 for $1500. and did alot of work on my friends cars also as that was in the deal. I think I spent about $6500 on all the parts to do the mild restoration and build my eng , trans and rear as I did all the work myself. Then I spent about $8000. in just parts when I built my 493. So I would say I have about $16000. to $20000. in my 63 when I include the little things I may have forgot. I bought it in 2003 and got it on the road in 2006. I have never had this much money in any other car I have ever owned all my life including my daily drivers. Ron

Wow! Don't think i'm close to spending as much as some guys here. I have plans though! 69 Satellite Whoop, Whoop!!

I wish I would have saved up the total I've spent on it so far and bought a better "project" to begin with. I think I would have had less in it and be farther along.

After 35 years with a car you don't have a clue of how much money you have put in to it, and are afraid to find out! Back in the 80's I built it to drag race, in the 90's made it street able again, and in mid 2003 I put stock drive train back in so I could travel around the state.
