How much Mopar limited slip additive?

Orielly's ,Napa , Autozone . It will probably say Posi additive . Its about a 4 ounce bottle
use it all.

You get the oil out by pulling the carrier out. I wouldn’t rely on sucking it out

You mean pulling the whole rear end? (8 3/4" rear, as far as i know you have to pull the whole rear to open it)
Im not able to do this at home. Also i dont know if its worth it just for changing the oil.

Or... drill and tap a plug on the bottom of the housing. Drilling while full will flush it all out and then grease your tap. Install pipe plug and you’ve got yourself an 8 3/4 drain plug.

I've seen that too but i dont really want to do that.
Because i've never done something like that bevor and i dont want to screw up the differential.

For now i think i will just order this:
https://www.pressol.com/schmiertechnik/?lang=en#!/c/179/s/186/i/3376/12932

It looks pretty promising and i dont see why it should not work.
This way i also do not have to use something which will be later used for cooking food. :D Not really like that idea.

Just a though n not sure it will work but why dont you raise rear of vechile up n loosen the bolts up on the diff starting from bottom n going from side to side until its starts to leak out n let it drain,it may cause the gasket to leak after so just be carefull on not pry on unit to separate it.

Question really is WHY!? Does the sure grip work fine, if yes then why drain the good old stuff out?

Just my opinion here, but if the oil's been in there for any decent length of time there's a good chance of sludgy junk being settled in the bottom of the housing and carrier, and possibly up in the tubes a bit, I like to wipe it all out with a rag. To remove the carrier, it's not necessary to pull the whole rear end but there is some labor involved; it's a relatively easy task if you are used to doing any of your own mechanical work. The factory manual outlines the procedures, and we're always here to help with questions..
As for your original question, as others have stated dump the whole 4-ounce bottle of additive in. Put it in first, then add the oil. This way, if you overfill a little, the un-mixed additive won't be the first thing to drain back out of the hole.

Whichever method you choose, be ready to stink up your garage for a few days!!

I dont know if it has ever been changed at all.
I just want to do it to prevent failure.

So i see it right that you guys think sucking the old oil out and pumping the new oil in isnt good enough?

Well i will risk a look in the manual and see how that works.
Is there a youtube video maybe?

Here is what I do,

1. pull the plug, stick your little finger in the hole and see how high the fluid is
2. look at the fluid that is on your finger, if it is super black (gear lube traditionally is pretty dark) and feels at all gritty, you need to pull the 3rd member and clean it out, if however it doesn't look that bad and is still real slippery, then top it off and move on.
3. if it is tan and/or foamy, then you definitely need to at least suck it all out (better to pull the carrier and actually clean it).

Bottom line is that the rear end is pretty tough, if it would make you feel better, then change the fluid. If there is any sludge in there, it will sit on the bottom. That said, if there is any noise coming out of it, you need to pull the carrier and see whats happening; more than once I have pulled a rear cover or a 3rd member to find pieces of metal on there.

Seems like a good idea.

What do you guys think about this tool to additionally take a look inside the differential?

Would not only buy it for this application, think it would be handy to have in general.
Dont know if this particular one is a quality unit though.

My turn!

I talked to Cass / Dr. Diff about the additives and under testing different brands the Ford Friction Modifier lasts the longest of all of them. They all break down over a period of time.

Who would want to go through all the trouble to drop the third member out to drain the lube when a $13 hand pump can do the job.

I've used one like this twice now and it removed all of the lube except for about 1/2 a pint. Made by Hopkins and it's found in most of the parts supply stores.

Yeah that will work, but I bought a similar unit on Amazon and it works well.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who hates the smell of that stuff.

Personally, I miss the smell of the original Sure Grip lube with Sperm whale oil infused. That stuff was GOOD but, I was glad that whales were no longer killed for any reason.
