Whelp looks like I'm in for a direct hit. Glad I got my 2-100gal tanks topped off 2 weeks ago. Power is likely to be out for at least a week. Property is all secured down, now the wait begins.

Stay safe folks!

Stay safe folks, we go through this on the Florida/Alabama/Louisiana, and Texas coast every year, multiple times.

Tough to say according to the 11am forecast from the National Hurricane Ctr.

Henri is moving north-northeastward, or 020 degrees, at 12 kt. The
steering pattern appears fairly well established now with a cut off
low located over the central Appalachians and a ridge building to
the east and northeast of Henri. This pattern should cause the
storm to accelerate to the north or north-northeast today followed
by a slight bend to the left on Sunday. The latest run of the GFS
has shifted to the east, but overall the models are focused in on
landfall being between central Long Island and Rhode Island on
Sunday. However, users are reminded to not focus on the center
itself, as impacts will extend well away from the center, especially
to the east. The new NHC track forecast is a little to the east of
the previous one and very near the best-performing models, the
consensus aids.

Cat 1 is winds over 73 mph...

After living in SC and GA for so long this is all old hat for us. No biggie. I have everything put away and lashed down. I'm ready.

The oldest just came back from Columbia,SC. Lot of rain & humidity (especially humidity!). He was at Parris Island(same as me),so he was ready for it.

Looking a lot better than yesterday for me but for those on Eastern CT & RI, be safe!

Thoughts are with you all! Take care!

Mountain states, like VT, have an issue with torrential rain swelling the rivers coming down the mountains. Once the surge gets to the bottom where the little towns sit it wipes **** out. Right in Brandon, 6 miles away, Irene took out the road leading into town, and two commercial businesses and buildings. They just last week put the finishing touches on the repairs there. lol..to the left side of this picture you can see a bridge railing. It is gone just out of frame. The river took everything to the left going to the right in between the white building and the one where the lights are on...

This bridge was gone the evening my wife and her girlfriend were coming to Brandon on vacation. They sat in their car in the same spot those trucks are in and wondered how to get there from that spot. They were sure there was supposed to be a bridge there...lol.
