HYD. Roller lifters , which one?

Dan, off subject do you still have the specs for your rear diff. Because I'm following you having the specs would be great.

From what I'm reading here we are safe from 5800 till 6300. If you are all in at 6200 and your torque and hp stay on the good side then no problem. 6300 up sounds like it could be trouble so if we only bump the top number now and then should be ok.
Car should trap around 6000 + converter slip. It will have a 6al-2 so i'll set the limiter only as high as i feel it needs ,no point in buzzing it too high, too many times. No matter what happens ,i will post dyno results .

I don't remember but did anyone answer your question that is running juice. With the juice added rpms must jump up pretty quick. So what do they use.

Let me see if i can find everything from Strange tomorrow . If not just let me know where and what you want me to measure. The numbers i gave to Strange where based on the inside measurements from wheel to wheel. I knew i wanted to run Torq-thrust 15x10 with a 14.5 section width M&H cheater slick. After I mini tubed the car i just stuck the wheels in the wheel wells and got my number . I felt is was a safer way for me to do it because i also wanted Wilwood disc rear brakes and didn't know what the brake stand off measurement would be so i let them do the math as they were selling me a complete rear, brakes and all. Worked out well. Those 15x10 wheels have a 3 3/4" back space ,not sure what wheels your running , that will change the overall length .

Got it I'll go with that plan I'll put tires and wheels and measure from that. I also going rear disc but using stock. Thanks

I will use a kit from dr.diff or someone like that. Lots of suppliers or do it the old fashion way build my own.

I just can't wrap my head around the "how" to have stock disc rear brakes when there never were any on for example a 70 Roadrunner??

Since the 6074 lifters are rated for use with spring loads suitable for mild to mid-level solid rollers, I’m sure with the right set of lobes, coupled with suitable spring loads and plunger preload....... 6500 “shouldn’t” be a big problem.

The street lifters can’t safely be run with those same kind of spring loads.

Quick update , my engine builder called to order the hi-rpm Morel roller lifter and was told 8-10 weeks out. I called Hugh's and they said the same thing ,in my conversation with them it was mentioned that they are having a lot of success with the Howard # 91774 roller lifter. This particular part number is for a Gaterman lifter not the Morel street lifter that may be another Howard part number. I was told by Hugh's this is the one to use on a build such as mine. I'm going to give them a shot and see what happens.

Got the 493 on the dyno yesterday. I did use the Howard # 91774 lifter recommended by Hugh's. As far as the lifters were concerned they went to 6300 rpm before they started to nose over but i was all done by then anyway . Engine hit my numbers at 630 hp and 652 torque even with the dual plane Indy . I'm sure i'm leaving some on the table but with hood clearance issues and it being a 10:1 street motor i'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Sorry about the pictures , his printer wasn't working so I had to take pics of the runs and his monitor didn't fit the entire rpm range on one screen . Best numbers were with a 2" super sucker and a 950 carb owned by the engine builder. Same test with my ootb 950 Brawler was 15 hp down from his 950 so it looks like i'll be having one built . The 2" spacer was used to see how much difference it would make over the 1" i'll most likely be using. 2" made 5 hp more and 10 torque over the 1" super sucker ( kinda weird more increase in torque than hp ). The 1" super sucker made 3 hp over a 1" open spacer. I sorta messed up and didn't do any pulls without a spacer to compare. The pic showing 625 hp is with a 1" spacer which is how i plan to run it .

Great numbers! What was the combo?
493 Ohio 4.150 crank, Eagle h beams, icon pistons for 10:1 pump gas ,wanted it be able to run on 91 if that's all that was available ( currently run 93 ). Trick Flow 270's , Indy dual plane d.p.m.to the 270's ,Brawler 950 for now, 250/258 Erson hydr. roller 550 lift ,110 ,1.6 Harland Sharp for close to 600 lift , Howards lifters #91774 ( really Gatormans i'm told) .Cvf Wraptor Black Diamond serpentine ac/ps. Car is a 64' Polara , all steel, full interior, street car, mini tubbed, us car tool level 3, dana 60 , RMS Alterkation front set up. So far it's turning out to be a really fun project , learning a lot from this forum.
