Hyrdgoon's - project angrybird

Thanks guys! The Moroso "Perm align's" are already ordered so I'll give them a go. Pretty sure the exact one's 440-6 is talking about

That's them, just don't over tighten them. Snug them up and if it still leaks give them a quarter turn or so till it stops leaking.
I had a small leak for years, tried all the best gaskets and even used RTV in anger, they hold for a while and then leak again, tried the blue morosos a few years ago and no leaks yet.

I may have to try this myself, whoever built this engine in my 73 must have been in school, and i don't mean Voteck as i think they would have done it better! Im glad your getting things in order there HYRDGOON, as i know these things will help me when the time comes! And thank you 440+6!!!

Still having some issues with the valve covers leaking.. Damn cork gasket just doesn't want to set... anyone use the silicone gasket with the steel in the middle from MOROSO?? Ordered a pair today and hope they solve my issue...

On a side note I totally forgot about what weekend MOPARFEST is not far from my place in New Hamburg and agreed to be a date to a wedding... Guess I'll miss the Saturday and Saturday night festivities but maybe can make it out Sunday if I get back at a decent time. (if you could see the girl I agreed to go with you would understand why I said yes!)

I'm sure that you'll get things all figured out and take care of business . . . then you'll have to get back to us later and let us know !

Then when you figure out the leaking valve cover gasket, we'll want to hear about it too ! ! !

Purdy, Purdy, and it even looks like we're running the same rockers too.

Thanks Dev, and I guess I can thank CME for the choice in rockers as it's their build.

Thought this was pretty cool and different at last nights cruise night.... a Grand National powered Toyota Celica

Looking good, thanks for the pics...my project took me a different direction this weekend, gaskets will go on soon.

BTW, have you been happy with the selection of CME so far? I am seriously considering them myself.

I'm confident the blue gaskets will solve any issues you might be having as they just appear to be a superior product.

I actually got to meet up with KnoGood (Patrick) this weekend which was the member I originally spoke with when debating my CME Motor and recommended he just swap the cork for the blue Moroso's as a pre-emptive measure.

As far as CME goes if you read through the thread you'll see the biggest "issues" were delivery time. (they said 6 weeks it took about 5 months but I planned for that) and the extra grinding that had to be done around the oil pickup to get rid of a knock once warmed up.... Beyond that I couldn't be happier!! This Motor really is a beast and runs absolutely awesome!

Big shout out to KnoGood also after this weekend great meeting another awesome member and can't wait to see his Charger come together!

hey goon, pm me your address i got something for ya....its good for more HP, fer racin'

So the next minor problem has come up and looking for any tips/tricks/suggestions. I've developed a leak at the drivers side header enough to annoy the crap out of me (tick tick tick tick!)

Any suggestion to a preferred gasket? or other ideas to get this sorted as painless as possible?

Best gasket I have used is Percy's aluminum gaskets. They will form up a perfect seal against the heads.

And maybe add some stage 8 locking fasteners so the bolts won't loosen up. It's been 2+ years since I've installed mine, no leaks and haven't had to tighten up any bolts.

Car is looking sweet! :eek:ccasion14:

Thanks for both the advice and the compliments Red Stripe! I'll watch for a PM when you wanna trade that Sweet A$$ Charger!! lol

Had a gift from USAROADRUNNER show up in the mail today... Come on now how cool is this!!!

Thanks so much man I still can't believe you made these up!! I better see one on your toolbox too :)
