It’s a Mad,mad, mad World. So many great comedians. I cry every time I see it. Nobody could do it better today!!!! With a lot of Mopars.

All through the 70's and into the 80's it was a tradition in our family.

Any time t was on broadcast TV, it was a big get together.

One man gas station destroyer!
Unbelievable cast, and more '62 mopars than any other movie ever!
There's not a car in that movie, featured or on the street, that I wouldn't be proud to have in my driveway.

Many years ago I worked in the TV industry, back in the late 70's and early 80's. I spent close to 10 years working as a sound recordist for a production company that shot TV commercials. We were hired by an ad agency that had "Great Adventure" amusement park as a client. They conceived an ad campaign that featured Johnathan Winters as the spokesperson. We shot at the amusement park early in the season about one week prior to the park opening. Johnathan was certainly the funniest person I had ever had the pleasure to work with. He was truly "On" all day, every day we shot. From morning to night, thru lunch and every moment between. Constantly doing his various characters non stop both on and off camera. Don't remember about other guys on the crew, but I know that I started having abdominal muscle pains from laughing so hard for so long every day. He was truly the funniest human I had ever had the pleasure to be around. And yes, Mad World was and is a classic.

You are very lucky. That has to be one if the moments in your life you truly treasure. I liked him in cannon ball run in the ambulance. What a character.

Just to show you how ancient I am, I remember Jonathon Winters on The Tonight Show when Jack Parr was at the helm. He came on the show very tipsy, and would NOT leave. He did a bunch of his characters, and the crazier and funnier he got, the more pissed off Jack Parr got. It was hilarious. I am not sure that Parr ever had him back on, but his successor, Johnny Carson had him on The Tonight Show many times, and really enjoyed his crazy ingenuity.

I've watched it at least a dozen times, love that movie. Every once in awhile I'll think about it and have to watch it again. (I've got it recorded)

Jonathan is a once in numerous lifetimes!!!

Classic (long movie too) comedy when great comedians
were still funny, people were (edited;) NOT easily offended by everything under the sun
actors were still 1/2 way normal people, not complete spaztic weirdos

I think you meant weren't easily offended, because they are today.

Ran across this on YouTube.. I an earlier post above, I described what it was like shooting commercials with Jonathan Winters and how he was "on" all the time. Here is a sample of that "on" I was trying to describe. Imagine his all day long...and I mean all day.

That's great, thanks for sharing.
