Been talking about this for almost 2 years now
hope you got your accumulative 30 in
then do what you want, where you want & when you want
you'll still be on the wife's timetable till she retires too
IMO not having a job to go to, regular routine
sometimes isn't all it's cracked up to be
I know many guys who struggled with retirement
I do enjoy my time now
I had to learn to really
BUT;
unless you have the means/funds to do the stuff you want
it's can be sort of boring at times too,
you'll find yourself inventing things, that need to be done
be careful about your spending too
It goes way faster, when not as much coming in
or no overtime or extra cash for side work etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I took a few courses while still working
Machine Tech, at a JC, when I still lived in Concord, DVC
so I could use the machinery & tools I didn't have
& actually learned a little too
Some fellow students were there for the same reason I was
a couple of older gentlemen 50's when I was in my 30's
Nostalgia Drag Racing & IHBA (drag boat racing) veterans
from the old Alameda Shipyard Boat builders/machinists
the course instructor wasn't that good,
but he let US do personal projects at will, hands on stuff
with a little guidance, getting metal cheap
& an abundance of it to choose from, made all kinds of brackets & mounts etc.
Not sure how it'd be today, that was almost 30 years ago now
I thought about doing that again, up here at Columbia College
a few 20-25 (?) or so miles away, do a CNC Machining course
sounds like it'd be fun
But I'm learning about, procrastinating now
