I might take this out for a spin tomorrow, what do you all think?

Oh, boy, you probably should have braced it before cutting that much. Oh well... it probably wasnt square anyways having been hit that hard. Measure, measure, and measure again. Good luck!

One step closer!

That looks like a lotta dang work.

Look at this hideous masterpiece! We finally have the pieces together; I love how ugly it is! I'm so excited to see this moving forward!

Art Cars Colorado | Artocade | Trinidad when the Franken-runner is finished and painted, I will be taking it to this parade in Trinidad on September 10th. Building a car that doesn't exist using parts from other cars is a great parallel to Frankenstein because my friend Manfred and I decided to play god so to speak. The Satellite has a good engine, and the Road Runner just so happened to be the same year. Both the Satellite and the RR half were bought for parts. The Satellite had been terribly rear-ended and stripped of its interior by the time it was bought, and the Roadrunner was just half of a car. Both were dead as far as drivability, but since we had the parts, the know-how and the absolute badass of a mechanic and welder that is Jason, why not breathe new life into a couple of cars that were only good for parts until now by combining them into one? I plan to paint the name of the car on the doors and the head of Boris Karloff's version of Frankenstein's monster on the hood. Not sure what else I want to do as far as a paint job to complete the tribute, or if I want to keep it looking hideous as a parody since it would be done on purpose unlike Frankenstein's intention with his creation. I'm open to suggestions or ideas if anyone has anything to say :)

That should be a cool build. My daughter and I are going to get to work on her 72 Satellite here this summer. Nothing fancy, just going to get the motor in and running for now. A running, driving car no matter what it looks like is FAR more useful than a yard ornament that might someday get a rotisserie restoration (but usually doesn’t)

Our thoughts exactly. It turned out better than expected, thanks to our talented welder, Jason!

'72 is a good year, what type of Satellite is it?

72 318 auto, A/C Rear window defogger car. In all honesty I bought it because it came with a 1968 hp 383 and 3.23 sure grip 8.75 out of a Charger and I needed the hp manifolds for my 70 Charger build. But with my daughter going to body school it’s a perfect project…and I really like the later Satellites.

Oooh, those are rare! I bet she'll make it look perfect

Are you serious or just Joking around ? Hard to tell ? Can it be saved Yes, Should it be saved ? Questionable unless it was a Hemi car or a 440 car? And even then a 440 car is pushing it hard with the current market the way it is.
What options did this one have? Its not a Sunroof car, was it a 440 car?
I would be hard pressed to put forth the effort into it even with a Good supply of usable parts laying around for anything less than a Hemi or 440.

BUT I have a lot of projects laying around Mopar and Pontiac waiting their turn on the Spit so I can be very picky about what I do on my next project.

The answer to your first question is 'yes.' I'm both serious and joking! I'm not doing this to create a market or anything, it's just an art car my friends and I decided to put together to see if we could. :)

There's nothing really special about it, but the engine is good and it can drive, that's enough for me!

Put new wheels on it!

I honestly think these rims are too nice for this car but... it really fits the theme of the car!

Anybody have a trim ring and the center of a center cap that would fit?
